Other Leg Hurting On Crutches With A Broken Ankle

How to hurt your leg/ankle/foot to get on crutches?

Most ankle, leg, foot injuries are sprains, strains, fractures (same as a broken bone). Some also are tears like the tendons in the knee. All of these can occur from contact sports like foot ball. Stress fractures from over use in things like running, sprains when landing wrong on a curb , car accidents. I think I got you started. Now go on your own and think these thru. Good Luck.

PS you can also fake it and tell the Dr. you fell, twisted whatever and he can recommend crutches. You can also buy them at a medical supply drug store and tell everyone about your "accident".

Crutches hurting other leg?

I have a stress fracture/tendinitis in my left shin so I've been on crutches for the past three weeks or so. I'm in college so I cover a lot of distance throughout the day. I was really really sore all over the first week or so using my crutches but now it's easier and doesn't hurt. However my right ankle has started hurting really badly. It hurts when I plant my right leg to walk and also while not walking it really hurts to rotate my ankle at any angle. Is this just from a lot of weight being on one ankle or could it be a secondary injury?

Is there a way that i can hurt my leg so that i can get crutches?

I'm female and im 15 in year 11. I have been trying to get crutches since year 7 and haven't been able to succeed.
Is there a way that i can hurt my leg so that i can get crutches (i don't want to break a bone), i would like to badly sprain my leg or pull/tear a ligament in my leg or knee. I hurt my foot once but i didn't do enough to get crutches and i was really disappointed. I want real ways that i can hurt my leg/ankle to get crutches but i don't mind about pain, im strong and brave and can take large amounts of pain until the point when i cant move my leg/ankle or it odes not look normal any more and then i will have to got to hospital or doctors to get it looked at.
I don't want all these silly answers that say i should get help. i want real answers that will be able to help me achieve my target/ goal to get crutches.

My leg hurts? Crutches pain? Broken leg. Short leg cast?

I know how you feel. I didn't break my leg but I had ligament reconstructive surgery on my ankle on jan 10 and I'm in a short leg cast as well. Well basicly you have keep your leg elevated and ices to help with the swelling. There will be discomfort for a couple days and then it will be good. If it doesn't in couple days then your cast may have been put on wrong and you'll need a new one.

For the crutches just put wash cloths on the under arm part and make sure they are the right height. Try different heights to see what one you like best. You should be able to put 2-3 fingers from your arm pit to the cructh part.

How can i hurt myself and get crutches?

sprain your ankle. you can do it by just acting like you are running and jumping over something then land on the side of your ankle... that usually works. or if you have access to a trampoline, it's incredibly easy to sprain your ankle on one of those. just land on the side of your foot.
of course, landing with too much pressure could break your ankle, so just be careful. good luck hurting, i guess o_O

My son broke his leg in a skiing accident and he needs crutches. I think he needs the ones made with space aluminum, which is a steep up charge, but he just wants normal crutches. Money is no big deal, I just want my son to be safe. What should I do?

Get him “regular” crutches.Look. There is no such thing as “space aluminum,” except in the sense that all metals ultimately come from outer space. Let me ask: do you know the precise meaning of “space aluminum,” and specifically how the specifications of that particular metal will help ensure your son's safety?Or did you just hear “space aluminum,” and think, “Oh wow, space! Aluminum for space has got to be really great aluminum! They only use the very best materials for space because it's so dangerous! If space aluminum keeps astronauts safe in space, it'll definitely keep my son safe!”I think the latter.Listen, this is how unscrupulous people fleece other people for their money. This is how people get away with charging extra for a pork chop labeled “gluten free.” They absolutely depend on you reading sensational labeling and, without knowing what the labeling means, paying extra because “space aluminum” sounds super high-tech.I mean, even supposing there were a special type of aluminum exclusively used in spacecraft, how would you know it's the best material for your son's crutches? Maybe it's just particularly good at shielding from the heat of re-entry. And? Does your son plan to plunge into the atmosphere at orbital speeds using his crutches as a heat shield? No? Good, because that would most certainly kill him.So he doesn't need “space aluminum.” He needs something light and sturdy that will support his weight and feel comfortable. You know, “crutch aluminum.” The kind that isn't sold by scammers.

What can you do for fun if you have a broken ankle and you are on crutches?

I sprained my ankle, do I need to use crutches?

I can't advise you, but my experience might give you some useful info. I severely sprained my ankle on a Saturday night and I had no insurance. I did not go to the hospital. I did not want to go to urgent care either because I was broke and I figured xrays and crutches would be very costly. I comforted myself knowing that I could probably get some cheap crutches at the thrift store on Monday. BUT I own a horse, so Sunday morning I had to walk to his corral, about 60 feet, in order to feed him then walk back to the house (2x, breakfast and dinner). I also had to move around to go to the bathroom, eat, etc. I did not have crutches or a brace. My ankle was almost the size of a softball. But I walked on it. After the first day I had gotten accustomed to the pain, and I continued to walk on it without a brace or crutches. I stayed off it as much as possible, iced it occasionally and kept the foot elevated. I don't walk with a limp now, and the swelling went away permanently after I soaked my feet in an Epsom salt bath, about a month after the incident. (I would have done it sooner if I'd known that it would take away the swelling and pain!)  I'm convinced that if I had stayed off it (by using crutches and/or a brace) it would have stiffened up and likely created a permanent limp. Not all sprained ankles are the same...I'm just relaying my experience.
