Our Inbox Emails Are Only Going Back One Week And Seem To Be Getting Deleted On Their Own By Date.

Does Google delete old emails from my Gmail account automatically after a certain period of time?

NO! Unless they have been identified as SPAM or Trash.I am not aware of, and could not find, any official policy for FREE GMail accounts but I have found a couple folks described as ‘Google Experts’ commenting as follows:“Messages are saved in Gmail forever (unless you delete them, even accidentally). The only places automatically cleaned are Trash and Spam after about 30 days.”There are settings to control email and chat message storage available only to G Suite (Formerly Google Apps) administrators.

Does Hotmail/Outlook automatically delete emails that are more than 10 years old?

Hotmail deleted all my emails prior to September 20, 2017, so even ones that were far newer than ten years old. This was an old email address I had from Middle School so literally contained tons of childhood memories from emails with friends, some of whom have since passed away. While admittedly I had not been checking my hotmail account that often, I had definitely been within the past few months and also had my phone number and a recovery email address so would’ve expected Microsoft to contact me before deleting literally 20 years of emails.Honestly, I am shocked that Microsoft did this. I tweeted them and they provided some stupid canned response saying the setting was “on by default”. When I asked what setting they were referring to, I just got silence in response.Understood it is a free service and they can hide behind that, but seriously, lesson learned and just tells me something about the way Microsoft conducts itself. I cannot imagine Apple doing this to users, as they value their customer experience, whereas it seems Microsoft doesn’t really care much. It is also shocking given that they actually host the Azure cloud platform so not like storage space / servers are lacking there…. moreover, doesn’t give me much confidence if I were to need cloud storage in the future.I’ve pretty much given up hope, but it is still disappointing every time I remember that they deleted all these emails - including from my first girlfriend, high school romances, friends who have passed away, my college application letters and essays, etc.Maybe someone from Microsoft will read this and try to help out users experiencing this — doubtful, but here’s to hoping.

Why does gmail delete my sent mail?

As others have said, Gmail does not do this - or not normally. Default behavior is for your sent items to be “archived”, with a “sent” label on them. So if you click on the sent label in the left hand column, or do a search, you should see all your sent mail. If you do not, then there are only a couple of possibilities. Google Groupswdurham said:If you are using the webmail interface, GMail automatically applies a Sent label to all mail you send, and those mails - and thus any conversation which contains a message sent by you - will show up when you click Sent in your sidebar. This label cannot be removed. If you don't see your Sent mail when you click Sent, then either:1. Something is deleting those conversations from your account. The most common culprit is a misconfigured filter designed to work on incoming mail. But filters also work on outgoing mail and can produce unexpected and unwanted results. A second common reason is that people mistakenly believe that what they see in Sent mail is a duplicate of what they see elsewhere, and so they delete the "duplicates".OR2. You are using another device or client to send mail, and this sent mail appears only on that client or device. So check the settings in the client or the app you use on the device, and make sure that you haven't opted for mail sent from there to appear in another folder, usually a local one, instead of having it go to the GMail Sent folder.

If I delete a direct messaging conversation from Instagram on my phone does it remove it from the other person's phone too?

Yes, but ONLY if they haven't already seen it. A couple months ago my girlfriend left me, and because her phone was broken, I tool advantage of the fact that she wouldn't be able to see the messages I sent her on Instagram. I spent the next week pouring my heart out to her, and every time the thought crossed my mind, I would tell her I loved her. I would tell her good morning, good night, and all the other things I missed being able to tell her when we were together. But before she was able to get her phone fixed, I went back and deleted every single one. Now she's none the wiser and I don't feel like such a sad piece of shit because of it.

How do I undo a sent mail after one day?

Now, GMAIL does have a “Enable Undo Send” option that you can set, but it is really a “delay send” feature, and it only works to a very short maximum of 30 seconds. But I do suggest people enable it so that they can cancel something from being sent out right away if they realize they hit “send” when they didn’t mean to.Unfortunately, that won’t help you for an Email that is sent out longer then this. And Gmail which is cloud-based doesn’t have a “Recall” feature like Microsoft Outlook Exchange, so there aren’t really any other options. (And note that the “Recall” feature in Microsoft Outlook Exchange is very limited, doesn’t always work, and only works well within certain corporate environments).I do not believe that Google has any way to “pull an Email” out of someone’s inbox once it has been delivered to them. So, here is one option…Build a time machine…Travel back in time to right before you hit the “Send” button..Make those changes to the Email that you should have done the first time and resend it the way you meant to in the first placeProblem solved!Or next time, think long and hard before you hit the “Send” button..Or contact the person you sent it to and ask them very nicely to PLEASE DELETE the Email that you sent before they open it, and that it was sent in error. Although my experience is that if you do this, they will still probably read it before deleting.Or prepare to explain to the person you sent it to why it was a mistake.. remember that important word in life called “apologize” ? Seems that many people these days have forgotten how to do that and think that technology can fix everything. But we are all human, and we all mess-up.Own-up to your mistake, be honest, humble, and maybe they will actually come to respect you MORE as a result of this mistake. And you will have certainly learned an important life lesson yourself…Some things can’t be taken back once they are said or done.Such is life..Good luck and Peace!Dr. Michael Einstein

My conversation folder is missing, how do I get it back?

here is what Ive been able to do so far to be able to read my convos...under Messenger folder, click on Me: scroll down the drop down window to "conversation history" and select it. you will now see the headlines of each convo...the body text has been missing the past 2 weeks or so, but now it will display as before (at least mine does as of this posting)...anyway...click on "sender", and the convo lists will come up....go and read what u want. NOW the tricky part is...since there is no conversations folder to currently go back to to skip around thru dates, etc, what u must do is...at the top of the bar, where it says inbox, contacts, calendar...to their right, tabs will appear with each page you read...as u know, when too many are open, you will be prompted to close some...and do that...BUT, there will also be a tab labeled Conversations...keep that one open! that way, when you want to go back to the list on conversations, click on it and that will take you back to the entire conversation history, and if you want to move from date to date, use the forward/back arrows in the upper right, same as before...this is messy, but once u do it a few times, it gets easier to navigate. I HOPE this is just a temporary fix, and that Yahoo gets back to displaying the convo folder where it used to be...hope this helps!

So I got into alot of trouble for smashing mailboxes, what charges do I face??

ok so the last saturday I was at a party with a buddy and his GF.we left the party and he was buzzed and I was completely wasted.the girl was sober.and my buddy was driving my truck.but anyhow we stopped at a small country store in the middle of nowhere,so i could pee.it was closed.anyhow i got out and peed then when i got back in I was like "i wonder how mad these ppl would get if i smashed their mailbox with my crowbar"and both of them started cheering me on to go do it.So i smashed the mailbox and hit their airconditioning unit to the point it prolly don't work.it was one of those big window units.so i came back to the truck and i told my buddy he had to go smash something now.so he went and hit their ice storage thing.anyways after we left there i continued hitting mailboxes out of the passenger window.and my freind pushed over like 3 or 4 with the truck.we prolly destroyed 15 or 20 in total.he also pushed over 2 stopsings and one slid around the side of the bumper and down the...

Can users still view your Twitter DMs after deactivation?

I don't think so. DMs (Direct Messages) seem to exist as a single copy across two 'mailboxes' so if either the sender or recipient deletes one, it's gone for both parties. If one party deletes their account then all their public messages no longer exist and I'd have to assume their DMs disappear too. Also, in most cases, it's only possible to send DMs where both parties mutually follow (it is possible to switch on a setting to allow anyone to DM you though) and so if one person kills their own account the link between the two accounts would probably be broken. I've no direct experience of this however. After an account has been deactivated it can be reactivated - I also don't know if the DMs (and public tweets) will reappear.

Why does my computer freeze when I attach a file in Yahoo Mail?

Thank you for the answers but I have wasted a better part of the day trying to figure this out to no avail.
I've deleted my browsing history, cookies, temp files.
Fearing that this a virus I ran a full system scan with Norton, Ad-aware, SpyBot, Defender, and Trendmicro. Besides a few cookies it did not turn anything up. I thoroughly checked my system for any mysterious files but that came up short as well. After all of that I still wasn't able to attach files.

I run Vista x64 with 8gb of RAM, my virtual memory looks OK to me and I've never had any errors. If there is anything I should check or a setting I can change please let me know.

Using another computer I was able to attach and send the same file(s). It seems text based files attach easily while any image heavy file locks up my computer.

I was able to attach these files using GMail. Quite a shame if this merger is screwing with email, somehow this doesnt make sense though.

I don't enjoy living in fear of my email.
