Out Of Town Interview Company Paid Advice Needed

If a company pays me to fly me out of state for an interview, what's the likelihood I'll get the job? Are mid-sized companies more likely to make an offer to an applicant who they flew in?

No company flies in people without a great deal of thought. Money is too expensive to come by to throw away. Every company has a budget for travel and those responsible for managing that portion of the budget don’t plan to waste it.Companies usually only fly in no more than 3 finalists. So in most circumstances, your odds would be 1 out of 3. The company always has the option of choosing “none of the above” as well so it could be 1:4. Some companies take the philosophy that they only fly in one person and only if they don’t choose that person do they schedule a second. So you will have to pay attention when you are there.Sometimes when you are there a clue will be dropped indicating how many they have invited in. Sometimes they will outright tell you the number. Most will not offer the job on site. They have to check with all those who have a say in the hire. They will make a final check of references. They will likely give you a time frame, usually a week or two, that you will hear from them.

I have a interview for a small town bank teller job?

Be friendly. Smile. Make eye contact. Remember to breathe☺. Sit up straight.

Don't say anything negative about past bosses, co-workers or jobs. Be positive.

Wear a suit, if you have one. Dress slacks or skirt. Skirt no shorter than 2 inches above knee.
Blouse- not revealing or low-cut or see-through.
Minimal jewelry. Very, very small earrings.
If you are full-figured, wear a very supportive bra.
Nail polish should be conservative- pale shades of peach or pink. Clear polish is best.
Wear a good pair of shoes.
Go very easy on the make-up! Very light, pale make-up. Lipstick should be a pale shade, not bright or dark or unusual.

As someone stated above, no perfume is your best bet.

Be prepared to talk about why you want to work there and why they should choose to hire you.
They will ask you what past job duties were and why you left/are leaving job(s).
They will ask you what your strengths/good qualities & weaknesses/bad qualities are.

Teeth: Make mixture of 1/2 water, 1/2 Hydrogen Peroxide. Swish around mouth for one minute. Do this two or three times a day. Your teeth will start looking whiter within a week.

Good Luck!!

Why can't I get a job interview?

I'm quite sure this question have been ask several times already by different people but I would like to get an honest opinion on my case. I graduated December last year with a degree in mechanical engineering and I have been applying for jobs even before i graduated. I wasn't able to get an internship and i have a less than 3.0 GPA. Base on my qualification, and the kind of economy we have right now, i understood that it's pretty much hopeless for me to pursue a career in the field of engineering; however, I am continually looking for a job, any job at all (provided that its descent and legal of course), yet i still did not get any interviews. I edited my CV and resume, had it check by a career counselor, and even talk to hiring managers but still no luck. I have applied for jobs from janitor, dish washer, to fastfood cashier but i can't even get interviews. Could it be that I am overqualified, or is it because i have not work for over 4 years (last time i worked was back in 2003 when i first started college)? If so, what do I need to do, any tips/advice? I am not looking for a dream job, i just need a job-it doesn't matter if the salary is low or the the company doesn't offer any benefits.

How do I recover from a missed interview?

Step 1: Relax

Step 2: Call and ask to reschedule the interview. Make sure you know when you can be there before you call. Only bring up the death in the family if asked. Go to step 3 if they reschedule. Otherwise go to step 4.

Step 3: When you sit down at the interview, thank them for rescheduling and leave it at that. Do not bring it up again unless they do. Do not bring up the death in the family unless they ask why you missed the first interview.

Step 4: Relax

There is a chance you wouldn't get the job even if you hadn't missed the interview. Keep this in mind if you don't get the job (whether you get the reschedule or not).

Step 5: Relax!

Good luck! (not that you need it, you write very professionally)

I have a job interview at Google in Mountain View. They are flying me out. Is it rude to ask them to fly out my wife as well?

A long time ago I was in a similar situation, interviewing for a job in San Francisco while living in New York. I let my (Former) overbearing girlfriend browbeat me into asking the employer to fly her out as well.  Amazingly, they agreed to it (and even invited her to dinner with me and some of the team after the interviews where she proceeded to drink too much and embarrass me.)Despite the interviews themselves going extremely well, I was not offered the job.  A few months later I ran into someone I met on the interview at a convention, and he confided that she had basically tanked the interview for me. I'm not suggesting that your wife would be similarly inappropriate, but I still think it's best to get the job offer first and then figure out your domestic situation later.

Do any moving companies offer payment plans for the move?

My husband and I just found out that he needs to relocate out of state for work. We just purchased the house that we are in now two weeks ago. So, money is really tight and we don't have the money sitting in the bank to pay for a big move... but we have to go. Do any moving companies offer payment plans or are the funds all due at the time of delivery? Or any other suggestions? Thanks!

Is it OK to request a phone interview instead of in person?

If you are completely upfront with them about your current temporary whereabouts I think most employers would find that request acceptable. Under normal circumstances it wouldn't be too advisable of course. BUT just don't try & mislead them about where you are and that you are on holiday with family or something but have plans to return based on the outcome of this interview etc.... and if the phone interview is positive for BOTH OF YOU, your willingness to come into town for a face to face.

LOTS OF companies conduct phone interviews lst to weed out the good from the bad potential employees.... so this isn't so strange a request.
