I also have Anxiety and OCD so when I first got the pain I was like alright.... Stay calm, but after a bout two seconds of the pain every time I breathed in I'd get the pain, this made for a totall full blown panic attack. I thought I was going into like cardiac arrest or something. Anyways it was sharp pains, and it kind of felt like ... Hard? Or tighter ? On my left side then right. Could of been my analyzing but I don't know. And when I stretch or I move certain ways it was either worst or better, I couldn't sleep I was so scared, and if a pressed on it it seemed to hurt more, Ive been freaked for hours, I finally fell asleep from being so exhausted and wearing myself out from panic, it's not 10:13 am, I still have pain. Little little pain, I was able to sleep on the side, but I was searching other answers and someone said some kind of le pheanomia (if it's spelt right) and then 2 days later there Lungs collapsed !? What!? So now I'm freaked out and completely obsessing over it. I'm 13 years old, girl. I mean it could of been gas? Possibly? But usually those plains occur in my tummy or chest. I'm very afraid something's wrong, I don't want my lungs to collapse!! And I don't think it could be muscle, I don't do much from my amxiety funk.... Unles it was the way I was sitting. Anyways, any ideas on what this may be?

What can cause pain on your left side under your rib cage?

It's hard to determine the most likely cause of the pain without having a little more info. Is the pain constant or does it come and go in waves? Does it get better or worse with eating? Better or worse with bowel movements? Pain with movement or exertion?
Pain that is in waves suggests that it's related to the bowel, especially if it is related to either eating or BMs. Have you lost any weight?
Flank pain, in the back just below the lower ribs, to the left of the spine and travelling around the left side of the trunk is usually from either the kidney or the spine and muscles in the area. Flank pain related to the kidneys can be caused, for instance, by stones, infection, or a more advanced problem. If the pain is getting worse I would suggest consulting with your chiropractor or other health professional. A thorough consultation and history along with a complete examination including xrays or other imaging would provide information to properly address your situation.
The best thing to do is to try to make as many observations as you can about the type, location, and characteristics of the pain, then discuss this with your doctor. The history that you give is probably the most valuable thing to help determine the appropriate tests and ultimately the cause of the pain.
