Pain On Left Side Kidney Or Gallbladder

Sore kidneys after gallbladder surgery?

The most serious reason would be a post operative infection with a developing septic syndrome. Typical complication of the occluded bile duct is pancreatitis which also is no laughing matter. Unfortunately yur symptoms support both possibilities. Both complications are typical and the also typical next symptom, frequent in those not caring for themselves, is septic shock with cardivascular collapse, which is acutely life threatening and survived in less than 50% of cases. This and all further complications don't care if you are single, double or triple mother and how your planning of the weekend looks like. Your child or children will then be "single children". Worst: Not by fate, but by ignorance. Your doctor does not get any salary increase if you're on leave or not. Basically he doesn't have to care about it. It is YOU YOURSELF who should be concerned about your health. Measure your temperature three times a day and if available: blood pressure. Septic shock is called "hyper dynamic shock". The heart is pumping around 20 liters of blood per minute like on the "Iron Man Marathon" but nothing arrives in the organs. Death cause of septic shock therefore is multi organ failure of MOF which starts with kidney failure. Lung and cardiovascular system is next. Your breathing problems are typical too and called ARDS, meaning "acute respiratory distress syndrome" leading in the end to the necessity of respirator therapy on ICU for weeks of months. After kidney failure it is the second most likely symptom of beginning septic shock. Another relatively early signis total mental distortion with hallucinations and delir. Therefore tell your children and colleagues if that occurs it is not caused by any drugs but you are in urgent need of an emergency ambulance.
The alternative: Stop behaving like a 7 year old child and see your doctor as early as possible who probably will provide you with antibiotics for 7 days. If after a few days symptoms do not reoccur you will be able to go to work on antibiotics.

Can you have pain on your LEFT side with gallbladder problems?

I had my gallbladder removed due to gallstones.

the pain starts in the center and radiates around to the back.

The pain you are describing is more likely a Kidney if it is localized and tender to the touch as a swollen kidney presses against the ribs which contain it. Your stomach is also left of center, your gallbladder is right of center, but the spasms cause pain all the way around to your back. If you feel like you are being squeezed all the way around from the front to the back, that is your gallbladder spasm.

Please go to the doctor and tell them the history of gallstones in your family. Emphasize that the pain is intolerable and get a prescription that will prevent the spasm. Ask for an ultrasound examination of your gallbladder, liver and kidneys as these are the areas which are located where your pain is. INSIST on treatment or a treatment plan before you leave.

I lived with spastic gallbladder for MONTHS. I don't want you to suffer as I did. Insist on the Ultrasound of that area to rule out gallstones. It is the only test that can and it took 3 emergency room visits for them to do one.

The gallbladder removal surgery is quick, leaves only three tiny scars that are barely noticeable and if you are feeling good and all your vitals are good, they will release you the next day. The worst part of surgery is being awake while they strapped your arms down. Ask for sedation before they begin to Prep you for surgery. You really do not want to remember any of that stuff. I wish I could forget.

peace and good health.

Persistent gallbladder pain that won't go away!?

I am 20wks pregnant... The pain slowly started 2 weeks ago... I thought the pain in my right rib was maybe from my belly stretching. Then about 4-5 days ago, the pain started to radiate around my side to my back, up to under my shoulder blade.
I went to the doc, she said it sounds like my gallbladder and ordered a gallbladder ultrasound.
Before even getting the results back, less than 24 hours, I went to the ER. They performed an ultrasound there and it didn't show any signs of stones and all blood tests came back fine.

For the last 3 days, the pain has been constant. I am in severe pain after EVERYTHING I eat... cereal, waffles (no butter), fruit, and I made a smoothie earlier (strawberry, ban, black berry, OJ) and I have been in a LOT of pain for the last 6-7 hours since then.

Is there any explanation to why my pain is constant and not just after eating greasy/fatty meal?? Tylenol doesn't help... the pain won't go away!!

Why do I have shoulder pain after a gallbladder removal?

Did you have laparoscopic surgery? My daughter had her kidney removed laparoscopically and had terrible shoulder pain for almost a week afterwards. They told her it was because of the gas they used to distend the abdomen during surgery. The gas either becomes stuck inside and puts pressure on the diaphragm which causes the nerve pain in the shoulder, or according to an internet site I read, the gas causes some internal tissue damage due to tissues that are supposed to be moist drying out. Either way, her pain was pretty intense but was ignored by doctors and nurses as "nothing to worry about "

What can cause pain on your left side under your rib cage?

It's hard to determine the most likely cause of the pain without having a little more info. Is the pain constant or does it come and go in waves? Does it get better or worse with eating? Better or worse with bowel movements? Pain with movement or exertion?
Pain that is in waves suggests that it's related to the bowel, especially if it is related to either eating or BMs. Have you lost any weight?
Flank pain, in the back just below the lower ribs, to the left of the spine and travelling around the left side of the trunk is usually from either the kidney or the spine and muscles in the area. Flank pain related to the kidneys can be caused, for instance, by stones, infection, or a more advanced problem. If the pain is getting worse I would suggest consulting with your chiropractor or other health professional. A thorough consultation and history along with a complete examination including xrays or other imaging would provide information to properly address your situation.
The best thing to do is to try to make as many observations as you can about the type, location, and characteristics of the pain, then discuss this with your doctor. The history that you give is probably the most valuable thing to help determine the appropriate tests and ultimately the cause of the pain.

Is your gallbladder closer to the front or the back?

I just had a gallbladder attack on June 6, 2006 and the pain was unbearable. The pain went from in between my ribs around to my back in between my shoulders. I have to have mine out tomorrow. If your friend thinks that is what it is then she needs to get to the ER because it could kill her if it is bad enough.

What can cause upper abominable pain that shoots from side to side?

Yes it could be GERD. But unfortunately the symptoms are so common both between GERD and heart conditions that you really should consult a doctor right away to determine that it really is GERD and not something more serious.

If it is GERD, there are foods that you should avoid to keep it from coming back. Following a diet works much better than prescribed medication from what I've seen. I've been diagnosed with GERD myself.

I remember having pains in my chest, even sharp pains in my arms and legs at times and went to the ER because I was worried it had something to do with my heart. Luckily it didn't but it was still a fright nonetheless.

But surely get it checked out. If it is gerd, you can find a list of foods to avoid as well as other good info on this site -> http://gerdtreatmenthelp.com/gerd-foods-...

Hope you find a solution for your condition.
