Pains From Holding A Baby

Can holding a sneeze in hurt my baby?

No. What you are feeling are the ligaments that hold the uterus in place. When you sneeze while pregnant they can stretch. Sometimes if you move or get up too quickly you will get the same sensation, a very sharp almost burning pain. I am pregnant with my 4th child and have had this with all 4 pregnancies. When I am pregnant I don't hold my sneezes in as they hurt too much so I find a way to sneeze that doesn't hurt.

Best of luck!

Numb arm holding baby?

I'd call the doctor.

also if you end up w/ carpal tunnel or something like tendonitis in your arm already, it will only get worse as baby gets bigger/heavier.

Look into slings and soft style carriers... you can make one w/out sewing for $5!! So affording one should not be an issue... look into this site for a ton of options:

Sore arms from holding baby?

yes. my left arm used to hurt and i also was pulling back muscles and thought my chest was hurting too. but it would only do that on days that i held him, well picked him up and down on. my sugestion is to get all the help you can with her and let your arm "rest" and try to hold her on the other side. i started to pick my son up on the other side to. it's then when you pull those muscles. it's getting better now though. he will be 6 mo tommorow. good luck!!

Breast pain after holding some one else's baby?

Wow, I've heard about how women lactate when they hear a baby cry, but that's probably what's happening to you (on a scale WITH PAIN). When I say lactate, I don't mean you're actually going to have milk sitting there, but your body inatelly recognizes a child's needs. Yours must just be really in tune with its maternal instinct.
OR it may be all in your head.

I'm a teen but when I was holding a baby the baby grabbed my breast and tried mouthing it. Why does she do that when she knows I'm not her mom?

lol.Sometimes it even tickles a little!I’d say that it is safe to assume this baby is still fairly new. And therefore has a strong rooting reflex. When they are quite small and hungry - that is ALL they care about; that they are able to feed. They do not really care where the milk is coming from.Which is why an awful lot of new fathers get this surprise of finding that their baby roots and latches on and starts to strongly suckle them!It is just instinct!I bet you got one hell of a surprise, and I’m sure you had quite an interesting expression on your face!I do recall hearing my children’s daddy calling out “HE’S HUNGRY!!!!!!” and coming into the lounge-room to see our baby vigorously moving his little head around, making little “e, e” noises, as he searched, and latched on to his daddy’s arm and started suckling vigorously. Quite a funny sight to see.But of course the baby does become frantic if allowed to continue to suckle onto nothing and will complain if not passed on to the actual milk source!Well now, sweetheart, you have learned something new - new babies will latch onto and try to get milk from anyone - regardless of gender!Eventually they work out exactly who does have the milk, and they can even smell it on her.

Can I get back pain from having big babies?

I think it has more to do with your body and how it handles pregnancy, than the size of the baby. If you are pregnant and experiencing back problems, get a health professional to determine why and what to do about it. With pregnancy, not everything is what it seems and depending on the how and where of the pain they may want to check other things as well. If you are not yet having problems, talk to your pregnancy advisor about how to try and avoid it.My first baby weighed 4,3 kg when he was born, which is not huge but quite heavy. When I became pregnant with him I was probably in the worst state, fitness wise, of my entire life. After that pregnancy I added overweight to my unfitness and then became pregnant with twins, who weighed 3.1 and 3.4 kg when they were born - that's 6.5 kg babies in one belly. I had very few problems and almost no back pain. But I know women younger and fitter than me, whose single babies weighed under 3 kg who experienced back pain and other problems. It is very individual.

When does a baby start holding up its head?

Both Benjamin and Joana could hold their head’s up pretty much from birth. This is not very common, but not unheard off either. The common age for this particular milestone is around 2 months[1].Footnotes[1] Important Milestones: Your Baby By Two Months

Can holding poop in, hurt the baby and/or lead to complication giving birth?

can holding my poop in hurt my unborn child? and can it lead to complications giving birth? i forgot to ask my doctor at my last appointment, and it's not for another month. i wanna know now, so that i can go to a different doctor if i need too. I know it's a form of constipation, i've been like this ever since i was born. it's natural for me to hold it in. I have know REAL reason to hold, besides it hurts alot. I just hold it in. i go pee normally, unless i have to poop. i don't get stomach pains from having to poop. i just, don't wanna hurt my child, and i need to know if i need to make a doctors appointment sooner than next month to get this checked out and under control. and if i do get it under control, would there still be a possibility of a complicated birth? i know you don't give birth thru yer ***, but still.
