Would you let a 15 year old paint their own room?
When I was about 7, I got my room painted a light purple color, and it has been that way since (I am now 15 and a half). I have done my best to make my room as "teenagerish" as possible, and I think I've done a pretty good job. My room is now pink and purple, however I would like to purchase a new comforter (that still matches the rest of my decor so I don't need to change everything) and give my walls a coat of paint. I was talking to my mom about how much I hated my wall color, and she said that she would convince my dad to paint an accent wall a deep plum purple color, however the walls would still remain light purple. Personally, I love the idea of an accent wall with a plum color, but I would want the rest of my walls to be a light neutral color, because I feel like it would get too busy. I told my mom I would be willing to paint the accent wall myself, and I haven't even mentioned my idea of the rest of the room. She said no to the wall, so there is no way I'd be able to get the rest of my room painted I want to explain to her I would save up money for the paint, and do it myself, since I'm almost 16, but they won't want me to screw up my walls. I'm not trying to get my whole room changed, but I want it to be a little different since I'm a teenager; not 7! Would you let your teenager / trust them to paint their own room? How to get red sharpie off a painted wall?
i HAVE a 3 yr old and always getting sharpie and everything on walls. my suggestions for you are you have to try as we don't know what paint you have used. I have learned to use a kids room paint in all rooms easy to clean and wipe no matter what. Magic eraser can help and i have used dollar store one they work just as well but don't last as long. Sometimes depending on how deep the color rubbing alcohol and goo gone. all these are cheap things that work but like i said depends on paint. also plain salt works on allot of surfaces along with comet at getting works of art off things that they shouldn't be on. I'm not a parent but I was a kid once, and my mom let me and my siblings spoil the walls with our scribbles. I can tell you for sure that it's one of the most beautiful things you can do for your kid.Many people will tell you that it's a good way to make them artistic and keep them involved, but it's more than that!When you let your kid scribble on the wall, you're (unknowingly) building a sense of trust in him. How do you get pen mark off of walls?
I caught my 3 yr old writing on my bedroom wall with a blue pen and have tried getting the pen marks off with one of those mr magic erasers but it isint seeming to help .Does anyone know of something else that might help?
Removing Ball-point pen/highlighter/marker ink, etc. from Walls and Doors?
Many times our kids have all done these little sketches on our walls. can't always paint so had to learn how to remove the stuff so the walls would still look good. I have a book from baking soda cleaning and using tips and it has been well worth the cost of the book several years ago. This solution is really the best to use for all of my cleaning in our entire house. Mix together about 2 cups of baking soda, 2 to 3 cups of ammonia and put into a gallon container and fill with water. Mix this solution well for cleaning and for washing walls and floors. It does the best on pen/highlighter and marker pens. It will remove the stains and also tobacco stains from smoking. If it won't remove it use a bit more baking soda with a cloth dipped into the solution. Your walls will look like new and freshly painted. The rinse is also a good idea to take the baking soda residue off. Mix up 2 to 3 cups of white vinegar and another gallon of water. Rinse the areas where you washed and dry. You will never be able to tell your child had a drawing fun on the wall. I use both of these solutions for everything in my house. I am happy to know that they work the best without spending a fortune on the cleaners sold in the stores. I know you will be pleased with the results, so just keep these cleaning solutions around until you need them. They work great especially when young children have enjoyed testing the walls for pictures to show you.
