Painting My Nails Once A Month

Is it okay to paint your nails once in a while?

I only paint my nails every once in a while. I would recommend painting on a base coat before applying your nail polish and afterwards to prevent it from chipping. Also, you should know that cheap nail polish often stains your nails for a period of time.

Is it bad to paint your nails alot?

Yes it is as mad as it sounds your nails are just hard skin and skin needs to 'breathe' in order to be healthy. I usedto paint my nails all the time like literally they would never not be painted. I then noticed that my nails when i would clean them had a yellow tint and they looked so unhealthy, my fingernails werent too bad but my toenails (sorry) looked awful!! I have not painted my toenails in 4 months and finally they are back to looking nice and healthy if i was to paint them now i would only use clear or strengthening nail varnish which has a pink tint! Eventually the chemicals in the paint dye your nails and it looks awful! so take care of them and make sure to give your nails a 1-2 week break between cleaning and re painting!

How often do you paint your nails?

Honestly, a bottle of nail polish is going to last your quite some years, unless you consistently paint one color for a couple of months every time it chipped.
I paint my nails whenever I'm not too lazy to remove the chipped nail polish I already have on my nails, which could range from a week to two months. Eventually I'll just paint my nails to have something on my nails. :)

Do you paint your nails at all?

I do sometimes, but I usually just prefer to go all out and get acrylic matte black stiletto nails and then just let my nails recover between manicures. I usually get manicures once every three months unless I'm running low on money or just too busy. Not my hand, but this is what I get almost exactly every time. I love it.Think I'll get my nails done tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me!

Do you hate painting your nails? It's kind of hard to paint using my left hand.

No. I can paint my nails using either hand. I once wrote with my left hand for 23 months even though I am right handed. It takes practice. So, practice with both hands. In a year or so, you will be able to write or paint with either hand, if that’s what you desire to do. Good luck!

How can I convince my wife that it’s not okay to paint my 3 year old nail. She will paint one thinking it’s funny but I don’t find any humor in it?

My grandson loved to paint his nails, from the time he was 1. It is pretty cool to have colors on your fingers! He is five now, and has sort of lost interest in nail polish. Did he get looks from strangers at the grocery store? Yeah, a few times. Of course, it could have been the Spiderman rainboots/green shorts/orange t shirt combo he was sporting (you know, because he dressed himself) .Toddlers and preschoolers are figuring out who they are. They love counting, colors, and figuring out how things work. What they don't care about is labeling. You may be concerned that your son “looks like a girl.” He doesn't care. He just sees the color on his fingertip. If he likes it, let it go. There are so many challenges that come with parenting. Learn to laugh at the little things.

Is it bad to paint your nails every week?

I’ve been getting a manicure every week - without fail - for nearly ten years. That’s a LOT of manicures!520 to be exact. What I’ve learned about the effects of nail polish on my nails has been illuminating. If someone goes from manicure to manicure without taking a break, your nails can develop white spots and lines on them. This is caused by the solvent in the polish as well as from the acetone used to remove the previous manicure. These white lines and spots are especially visible if you get pedicures and wait for weeks to get another one.The way to avoid damaging your nails is pretty straightforward and easy to understand. Let’s use a weekly manicure as an example. If you get your nails done once a week - which I recommend if you want your nails to consistently look good - then it would be wise to remove the polish 24 hours before your next manicure. You can use acetone to remove the polish at home. A bottle of acetone at a beauty supply store will be much more effective than the nail polish remover you can buy at your local supermarket or CVS.As soon as I remove the polish from my last manicure, I use Jojoba Oil to moisturize my nails. This is the one I use, below.I recommend this brand, made by Leven Rose. There are plenty of other brands available too. Jojoba oil is very stable at room temperature.Put a couple drops of this oil in the palm of one hand and then, using your fingers, rub the oil onto the top of your nails and cuticles. Rub thoroughly - this may take a couple of minutes. You’ll know when you’ve applied enough oil because when you do, your nails will return to their natural color again and all the white will be gone. I typically do this three times on the day before my next manicure. As a result of my oiling my dry nails, when I get my next manicure, I’m starting with a clean canvas - and my manicure looks absolutely PERFECT.It’s not a bad idea to take a break from nail polish every so often too, although I rarely do this myself as long as I continue using oil to keep my nails moisturized.

Do you paint your fingernails and toenails the same color?

Well I do try to have them match, lol but most of the times the nail polish on my hands chips way faster than my toes so I redo my hands a different color ^_^

How important is the maintenance of your nails to you and how often do you go to the nail salon?

As far as my fingernails go, I just file them and use a clear coat polish. However, for my toenails, I visit a nail salon at least once a month for a salon pedicure. For me, I love to get my toenails pampered and polished, so I go and let them apply oil and lotions to my legs and ankles, brush the dead skin off my feet and toes, Trim my toenails and polish them with colored polish. It’s a real treat for me and then if I want to change the color polish I will do it on my own. It’s really important for my toes to be in tip top shape when I wear my open toed sandals in the spring and summer months.Hope that helps, :)
