Paragraph About Security

What is the main idea of the paragraph?

1 Money does not buy happiness or security. 2John Ringling, one of the five brothers of the Ringling Brothers Circus, started out in 1884 with a trained horse and a performing bear. 3For over forty years, he worked hard at the family enterprise, bought up smaller circuses, and imported new acts. 4In the 1920s, he was rated as one of the world's wealthiest men and owned every sizable circus in the country. 5Over 5,000 people were on his payroll, and over 240 railroad cars were in his retinue each time the circus moved. 6At the time of his death, however, he was a nervous, unhappy man; he was also bankrupt and beset by lawsuits. 7His carefully built circus empire passed into alien hands. 8All those years of work had turned to dust.

1) to relate the life of John Ringling
2) to show that money is not the most important thing in life
3) to convince the reader to join the circus
4) to prove that circus life is tragic

What does the 4th and 5th paragraph of Declaration of Independence mean?

Robin is correct. The people of the colonies were being overcrowded without the benefit of an emigration policy from England. The birth rate in the colonies was 4 times that of England. Land was at an all time premium and with a lack of adequate roads, only those who had immediate access to water ways were able to get their goods and produce to market. They'd seen the same complaints aired 100 years earlier with Bacon's Rebellion.

They'd petitioned repeatedly for the removal of the French from the North American continent and even after having won the French and Indian/ Seven Year's War, were not only denied this request but instead, had the Proclamation of 1763 slapped on them. It basically forbid the colonists from westward expansion and from doing business (most specifically real estate) with either the Indians or the French who were given the Ohio River Valley. To add insult to injury, those already living in the ORV were required to give up their land and homes and return back to the eastern sea board communities AND the King then began a series of tax increases to pay for a war in which they'd fought (more so than did the English Army), won and still did not gain.

Finally, there was the bit about a lack of representation. The colonists had made numerous requests for either a seat in Parliament, a local representative government (The House of Burgesses, represented only the King) or an immediate audience with the crown, which would put them on greater standing than was the House of Parliament. All such requests were denied. In a sense, the King and Parliament were taking their money and giving them nothing in return.

What is the UN's role in global security?

That was its ostensible role when formed, 'security from wars'. But the failure was built in its system of UN SC with five permanent members who were imperial or pretender powers to perpetuate their interests. UN SC represents a minority by design, of the whole humanity and so lacks honesty of purpose or action nor in its accountability (to humanity). No wonder it keeps failing unless one such of its members confronting a determined nation like Vietnam, whose three generations fought and many paid with their lives. Once Vietnam achieved it national aspiration she has no enmity with anyone and that shows its purity of purpose. That is the only way to nullify the writ of its permanent members. How many countries can show this, grit?
UN so far failed (not always but occasionally) in its positive path, but thankfully it hasn't assumed a negative role which it could have. To have impact on global security it should have teeth that it was born without, and also prevented from growing them. All its sins were thankfully those of omissions but not of commissions.
The ridiculous part of it is its ponderous and pompous aspect, full of hot air called 'international diplomacy' that (it seems) is perfected into an art, turning a Nelson eye to the unjustified splurging indulged in the name of the same diplomacy. This is a diseased mentality born out of the norms set in Imperial courts studding the globe in the past, now lying buried in history. This make-believe disneyland is being assiduously promoted and pursued as a virtue.
America's refusal to pay its dues to UN is justified this way, in 'letter' but totally unjustified in 'spirit' because it is called 'blackmail'. In spite of all UN's showing of diplomatic successes it didn't do any good to the populace. It is so because the problems were created it or rather by its exalted members and sorted by its own self.

What's the best sentence or paragraph you’ve heard to describe and convince people that they should always use VPN for security and anonymity?

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE  Live a Private Life, Digitally, TeamSWOMI :)

Can someone be so nice to help me fix this paragraph? thank you! ?

Write a nonsense story that includes each of the words on this list.

celebrity
exception
noticeable
logical
captive
incense
discontinue
vacate
hiccup
casualty
security
cinnamon
certify

Their once was a celebrity whom was not noticeable to his captive personal. he spoke with hiccups on his lips. Which made his captives very certified that he was not a man. The captives eat cinnamon with security that the celebrity would not vacate his presence. It was not logical of the captives to discontinue the idea of exception for this celebrity. He was not of any form of casualty what so ever. He was just an incense man with no personality.

Fourth paragraph in the Declaration of Independence?

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
