I have the same problem except for it's with my older brother and I don't have step-parents. When he was my age, he stayed out til midnight or later, could go on dates, never EVER got into trouble even when he beat up on me, was allowed to go anywhere he wanted and did everything he wanted, and my parents never yelled at him and he was never in trouble. He can still do whatever he wants. His grades used to be good but now he's juts barely passing but they still don't care. But me? My parents can't wait to criticize me at every turn, do everything they can to get me in trouble, when they know I have plans with my friends, they ground me the day before for no good reason, don't let me go to sleepover, don't let me hang out with friends, no dates, I have a bedtime and my brother never had one, I can't talk on the phone more than 20 minutes, and when i get all A's? "You can't even learn right. My god, I'm sure if you actually STUDIED you could do better." I guess some parent sjust have their favorites...my parents must really be the extreme though. Consider yourself lucky....
