I have direct deposit. If my payday falls on a sunday can my employer with hold the money until monday!?
i used to get a regular check but had to wait until monday to gey it if payday fell on the weekend. I got direct deposit because i thought it wold be deposited even on the weekend

pay day for me is 22nd (sunday) but if you have direct deposit does it go through on saturday @ midnight or do you have to wait till the next business day sunday @ midnight

When payday falls on a weekend with direct deposit when are funds generally available?
I work for a bank so usually when deposits are made before a certain time on a friday then funds are available right away...but after that time and all day Saturdays they are posted to your accounted Monday Here's a little tip though, I'm not sure if it works with EVERY bank...if you've deposited past that certain time on friday you can request to the teller to update your account right after the deposit so that the funds are available in a few minutes if you need to use your checks or cards and can't wait for monday

This depends on what agreement there is between your employer and your bank. Some banks have an agreement wherein the bank gets an electronic message on Thursday or Friday saying an electronic deposit from your employer will be there on Monday. Then your bank will actually 'front' you the money, crediting it to your account on Saturday in anticipation of a Monday pay day. This is most common with government employers. If there are federal holidays in the mix, your payroll department may occasionaly be delayed in getting everything into the system and sending the bank that message, meaning you won't see the deposit until Monday. Which is why when your pay works like this you have to be careful and still set up electronic withdrawals and bill payments for Monday to account for that.

Sometimes, but rarely,If you get paid Monthly or bi/Monthly and your payday comes on a weekend or Holiday the EFT will come on weekday before.If your Payroll/HR has a habit of transmitting payroll to the bank early it can sometimes come the day before. But Most do a EFT to the bank with a release date of X, so the EFT is at there bank, but the bank will not release the EFT’s to the system till that time/date.

I'm paid the same way. You'll get your pay on Friday, June 13. If the 15th or the last day of the month falls on a weekend or hloliday, your pay should always be posted on the business day before the weekend or the holiday.
