People In Uk. What Do You Think It

What do people from the U.K. think of Obama?

A poll conducted by the Telegraph (a UK newspaper) found that Britons prefer Barack Obama to McCain:

"Some 49 per cent of UK respondents said that if they could vote in the contest, they would back Mr Obama, an Illinois senator who would be the first black president in US history...By contrast, only 14 per cent said they would vote for Mr McCain, a veteran Arizona senator best known in the UK as a former Vietnam prisoner of war."

What do people outside the UK think of our monarchy?

I have no love for the British monarchy simply because, as a citizen of a former colony that suffered greatly under British rule, the Royal Family represents the last vestiges of the Empire. It actually surprises me that I bear such strong negative sentiments toward the monarchy considering how many generations have passed since India won her independence. I like to think of myself as a rational man and it is illogical to hate a person or persons whose ancestors were responsible for causing pain to mine. Somewhere buried deep inside my heart I still feel that pain, though. It just is.Maybe it will take a few more generations but for now all I think of when I see the Queen, or a member of her massive family, is — give us back the damn Koh-i-noor.Apart from that, I also strongly believe the monarchy isn’t necessary. I don’t think the benefits of having these Queens and Princes and Duchesses as tourist attractions or goodwill ambassadors outweighs their burden on the taxpayer, especially during such difficult times for the United Kingdom. While I’m aware that several of them are gainfully employed, I also know that many of them use the Queen’s income for their own purposes.[1] Their roles could easily be filled — and for much less expense — by members of the democratically-elected government.I also want to clarify that I have visited the UK and was enchanted by the people I met. Your countries are truly rich in history and culture. I loved my stays in London, Manchester and Liverpool and enjoyed visits to the tiny village of Pammington and an abandoned coal mine in Wales. I love your traditions, and the many cultural quirks we share. But no, I cannot like your monarchy.[1] Queen's income rises to £82m to cover cost of Buckingham Palace works

What do you think about UK?

Compared to most countries I’ve visited it’s very orderly, and on the whole stuff works fairly well. Except that social class still determines everything, so it’s best not to take that too seriously.People complain about the royal family but still have an oddly fawning attitude towards them (and other posh people). The Daily Mail is a nasty, evil-spirited publication masquerading as a newspaper. Most places which aren’t cities (and some places which are) can be really hard to live in. Unless of course you’re fond of driving, terrible customer service, and casual sexism.Reading the book ‘Watching the English’ by Kate Fox is a good way of finding out more about England.Irish pubs in the UK aren’t anything like pubs in Ireland. Sorry, UK, but the pubs here are really terrible places where a gal can’t get to the bar because it’s six deep with men standing in front of it, just because it’s a man thing to stand around the bar. In Ireland you get table service (although most of the beer is a lot worse than beer in the UK).It’s quite common nowadays to hear people say that being concerned about immigration isn’t racist. When they tell you this, reply that they’re perfectly correct: it’s xenophobic.People will tell you that grammar schools are a great force for social mobility. They’re not. When you’re offered a plate of biscuits, it’s a cardinal sin to take more than one.Remember, the UK is a kingdom, not a republic. This explains an awful lot.

What do the Thai people really think of the British?

I'm Thai. Brits are OK. I like Monty Python....
Sit on my face... and tell me that you love me...
I sit on your face and tell you I love you too..
Life should be fine when we both sixty nine,
Sit on our faces in all sorts of places, and then..
We shall be blown away....

Ok. I'm coming back for a more serious answer. My opinion might not be so accurate though because I went to school in the UK.
Thai and British has over 300 years of relations. With the very intense encounter during King Rama IV and V (about Queen Victoria time). Rama IV corresponded with Q. Victoria, copies of their letters can be found in British Library.
Britain wanted to colonise Thailand, but wasn't successful for several reasons. Thai Kings (like K. Rama V) hired British economic adviser and hence we had railway.
British later on in the history helped a lot in develop Thailand, although the relations weren't so good after WWII.
Because of quite long relations, I don't find British being any different than Thai people once I went to stay in the UK.
I had lots of British friends, one of them was very beautiful (just to correspond to your additional details). I like Monty Python because my brit friends introduced them to me during my education time.
I believe in the saying that once a British become friend, they are for life. I have lots of British friends.

.... I met JK Rowling, and wrote to her but she wouldn't write back. That I don't like...

Satisfy?

What do British people think of anglophiles?

Gushing and over the top is embarrassing. Appreciative is nice. There is an American family who make a point of staying in my town regularly and video blog about it. Sometimes it is nice to have people make you look through new eyes at where you live.

Do you think asian people loves ballad music?

cause their songs are good..

Do British people think Americans have accents?

You know how we (Americans) think British people have accents. Do they think we have accents? And if we both think that about each other, then wouldn't Americans actually be the ones with the accent since english obviously started in England?
Also what do British people think about the American "accent".---- i think most Americans believe that the british accent is hot!
