People Keep Saying I Don

People keep saying I don't talk?

Okay I'm quiet but I'm not shy but this guy I used to talk to because he sat down next to me said "she doesn't talk." wtf I talked to him so how could I not talk? I don't talk to people I don't know cause I don't want them to tell me to go away or it's gonna be really awkward. Even some of my teachers think they could get away with it by saying "oh she never gets in trouble because she doesn't talk." I don't know why they get annoyed that I don't want to talk I usually only talk to people I have in common with or friends.

Why do people say "I don't need your pity"?

I said that I felt bad for someone and they said they don't need my pity and don't feel bad for them. What is that supposed to mean? I can't change the way I feel. So wtf. is not like I do things with/for them soley because of it. I don't act out of pity, i only feel it. so again, wtf

Why do people keep saying don't anger a person who has nothing to lose?

A person who is angry can become aggressive. If he/she becomes aggressive then they may destroy something of value to you.The decision to become aggressive is based on how angry that person is, how much self control they have, and also what they have to lose by the act of aggression.Imagine a person who is wealthy, has a perfect family, perfect friends and a perfect job. Imagine that he becomes angry during a traffic incident. He gets out of his car and wants to punch somebody. Now imagine what he is thinking before he punches someone. He could lose his job, get a jail sentence, perhaps lose friends and face a fine. This person has a lot to lose so when he is angry he needs to display self control not to lose all of these things. Now imagine a person that has no money, no friends, no family, no job. Imagine that he has nothing to look forward to in life. Now just imagine that you anger this person. He becomes very angry. There is nothing stopping him from hitting you. He is not concerned of any consequences. So it is probably good practice not to anger someone who has nothing and nothing to lose.

Why do people keep insisting on saying they don't have time? Is time really that short? Or are they not capable of using it right?

Good logical replies here. I will add that such people leave the urgency of meeting to you; you have to create an opportunity to share time with them. If they refuse, that means they dislike you. Rarely is such a case; normally they would accept and see you on a particular occasion. Why? Because they do not feel that they need you. You are not on their priority list. If you love them, then you will have to have them on your priority list. Steadily, they may be roped in to make themselves available to you. They have to do some time sharing if they are too tight on their schedule. THEY WILL DO SO ON FEELING THE SUFFICIENT IMPACT AND WEIGHT OF YOUR EFFORTS FOR THAT.

Why do people keep telling me I have an accent?

I don't have one. I don't know why so many people ask me where my "accent" is from. Do you think that's just a polite way of them saying that I sound weird? Also, how could I have an accent if I've lived in Florida all my life, and only left once or twice for a short while?

Why do americans keep saying that british people don't shower?

Personnally, there are a lot of good things about the Brit. I have a close friend from Wales, lots of my favorite music come from the UK (Depeche Mode, New Order (Gillian Gilbert is cute, I wished she would smile more)), it's the home origin of shows like Monte Python and Doctor Who. Driving through the countryside, there are a lot of beautiful places to vist.

Ignore the unknowledgeable...ones like that say nasty stuff about Native Americans and other people and races as well.

I try to embrace the differences. With out differences, there would be no variety. That would be pretty boring.

Why do people keep saying they "know" things, when they ultimately don't?

Because -- regardless of what the dictionary says -- to know a fact is used in ordinary conversational English to mean to have a high degree of confidence that the fact is true, usually with some connotations of having a reason for your degree of confidence. When someone says "I know the train will be here in a minute," and the train doesn't arrive, nobody accuses them of lying about knowing; they just had a high degree of confidence which turned out to be unjustified. Which happens frequently. But so what? When I say "I know that no gods exist", I mean that in exactly the same way I mean it when I say "I know I live in Australia," or "I know The Beatles sang Yesterday." It's not impossible for me to be wrong, but I'd want to see a shitload of evidence before I conceded that I was. Merely pointing out that I might be is no reason for me to be any less confident. And if you stick to the dictionary definition and say that you can't claim to know anything that might be wrong, then you rule out all knowledge claims, since humans are inherently fallible. You're simply striking the word 'know' out of the English lexicon.

What does it mean when people say don’t be a stranger?

It means that they have missed seeing you as much as they like, and they hope you will visit more often. It might be seen as a playful way to reprimand someone for being neglectful of their friendship, family functions, etc.
