People Laugh At Me For Being Smart Help

Do other people laugh at your mistakes?

If/when they laugh, why not pop off something like "Hey, I'm just trying to give the rest of you a chance."
The important thing is to be able to laugh at yourself. It really doesn't matter what other people think of you as long as you are happy with yourself.

Why do people always laugh at me?

I remember the girl who bullied me in my first grade when I asked for help.I remember the class laughing out loud when the teacher slapped me in my second grade.I remember a girl bullying me because I was fat.I remember my office colleagues would make fun of me because I wasn’t fluent in the language they would speak. Some would mention my sense of style and laugh saying that I was dressed way too bold to be in the office. The world runs on perception. Create a perfect picture and the world would envy you. Create a distorted picture and the world would point out the faults. They laugh at you not because you do not fit into their so called perfect world. It is because the distortions come into focus. Distortions are a part of you. The trick is to be the best version of yourself and you would find the distortions blurring off. Be comfortable in your own skin.I have eventually accepted myself the way I am. And you know what I am awesome. The day I got comfortable in my own skin, people stopped laughing. Instead I make them feel that my life is way too perfect then theirs. They envy me, they hate me. But you know what my life isn’t perfect, it appears to be.Stop pitying yourself and be the awesome you!

I'm sick of being laughed at, please help?

I'm 20 years old and the same **** happens to me. Some people just think differently than others do. They have different associations, and have different opinions, so they have different trains of thoughts. These trains sometimes wind up seeming strange to others.

Stab in the dark, but it seems that the majority of people around you are riding in one train/cultural experience and you're riding in another. But since you've probably been immersed in their lifestyle, you can probably follow what they're thinking with no difficulty, but you're unique to them.

And book smart people are just perceived as being strange sometimes.

I would suggest that you stop caring. If people think what you're saying is funny, well...they're entitled to their opinions. But you're entitled to your opinion too. The only reason you're disagreeing on that is because you think differently. But that doesn't mean that you can't be friends, or that the other person won't respect you or that they'll think badly about you. You shouldn't feel bad about yourself either.

Why do people call me over-smart?

Smart means intelligent, witty, clever, but it is in an smart alecky, disrespectful way. Furthermore I.V when a teacher uses over-smart, he or she means one is more smart alecky, and more disrespectful than one should be. However, it is right when a teacher says that to a student, it does hurt one's self esteem. Labeling does have that effect. A label like that does mean that one's classmates do not approve of that smart alecky side of a person. Rather that looking into why those smart alecky come from from one, we're going to show some ways that one may want to use to change that judgement that is made about asmart alecky person..

A theory about why people make too many sarcastic, smart alecky remarks is because we see it on television when we all watch comedy programs. We laugh when that happens on television. We then apply that when people laugh at our smart alecky remarks. We alsothink that they will like it just like when we see it on television. We will then be friends. But, one discovers that it does work. Smart alecky people lose more friends than they gain by being that way.

One way is that if someone talks to aperson and one gets the feeling that it will lead to a smart alecky remark. The person should ake a deep breath. Think about pausing just for a few seconds, and say, "I am sorry, would you say that again." Make it believable. Make it sincere. It may not work for a few times, but the times that it does work will increase. When other people are asked to repeat something that they said, they pause because they can't remember it. That make more time and gives one more time. Say to yourself, Change! Don't say any thing smart alecky!

Another way to change that behavior of smart aleckiness is to pause when someone talks to one. Wait and say,"excuse me." They know when that it said that either one did not hear or did not understand what they said. They will then repeat their question or statement, and one gets more time to say "stop that smart aleckiness, and give a straight and honest reply." Good luck.

Help, i like a very smart crush?

Don't act like something you aren't- if you guys get together eventually your personality will come out so that would all just be a waste of time if it's something he is or isn't attracted to. I think it is a really good idea to ask him for homework help that seems like a really easy way to talk to him more and spend time. Not all smart guys want a brainy girl... I know Ivy League graduates who are my friends who don't consider that a priority. They want to be able to hold a conversation with a girl but they look for other things like kindness.
