How do you sing in your own home without fear of being judged by your family members or neighbors? I haven't sung in a long time due to the fear of being heard with a bad voice and judged. How do I get over this and just sing my heart out?
Think of this when you feel afraid of being judged : you only get one life. Live it the best you can, take risks (not dangerous ones like fighting a lion, more like asking out a crush or shouting your favorite color in a crouded train).You do know that no one cares more than half the time right? Even more when it's not a family member or a close friend.I sing really REALLY bad, but I still do it at the top of my lungs. I know the neighbor's in my backyard can hear me loud and clear, and not once have I gotten a complain. I'm sure they get a good laugh out of it, I know I would if I heard someone as bad as me! Haha, just don't over think it, go with the flow.While you over think it, people and time move on. I once fell infront of my school when I was receiving an award, I even fell on top of a boy! I cried at the time, but now I look back on that day and laugh. I know 100% that everyone has forgotten about that day, want to know why? Cause it happened to me, not to them.Life moves on, move with it and do as you please with good intentions. Take a challenge once in a while, sing as loud and freely as you can in your bathroom. In a few years, it won't even matter. :)

Voice always wants to go higher while singing?
I used to sing a lot before i hit ouberty. I stopped, and i recently started again. I sing a lot of five seconds of summer (dont judge) even though there voices arent high, mine wants to go higher when i sing a long. I think i could have a strong voice if i could sing lower since my voice is low. How can i develop a lower singing voice? Sorry if this doesnt make sense, im a junior in high school if that helps.

I am a guitarist and a singer. I have composed 16 hindi songs of mine, having my own lyrics and music. Judging from the response I get from my friends/colleagues, the songs are pretty good. How do I market them?
For several years, this has been my question too. I too write hindi songs. But i was unable to get a good platform. i had started writing songs since my 8th grade, and now based on many peoples (friends as well as strangers) view, i am quite good at it.couple of years ago, i was performing at some place and i was spotted by someone, who was impressed by me and introduced me to a amateur music director. he composed my songs and recorded my two songs, with very low budget. i had actually planned to make an album of 6 songs, but due to economical condition of my house, i decided to drop the plan.and before few months, i had met this guy who contacted me from the ad i had posted on quikr. he told that he was interested in making an album, and asked my lyrics. he also told me not to expect huge amount until it was big. i agreed, and right now the only thing i needed was a little fame and few nicely recorded songs of my own. i gave my lyrics to him. but he demanded an English song. i gave him that too. its been more than 8 months, there is no proper response from him. i am not worried about him copying, i have all my songs roughly recorded for proof purpose. i just want someone who can take my work seriously.even i am constantly searching the one who could really understand my talent and do something about it.ps - dear questioner, if you got clicked someday, please guide my journey too.

Meh. Too clean, too processed. She's a very good guitar player and a very good singer... she has all the licks down pat. But there's too little feeling. I think it might have something to do with being a Euro, they have to manufacture their soul. She'd make a better rock guitarist frankly. Debbie and Susan are both a little better. Although I like this girl's tone a little more than Debbie and Susan's. And if we want to be frank, Bonnie Rait is better than all three... but even she lacks a little emotion imo. When I hear women playing the blues guitar, there always seems to be a disconnect in there somewhere. Yet, for some reason there doesn't seem to be the same disconnect when it comes to female blues singers. Interesting. You ought to put this up in the Blues section and see what people like Wire & String, Martin Couch, Glen the Muffin Man etc have to say. Maybe I'm off base.

Maybe this is your opportunity to practice acting a slightly different way. Not inauthentic, but expressing yourself. It's just as possible they would appreciate your own form of bluntness, loudness, etc. Maybe they're not so much judgmental as emotionally expressive. You could find out more about them first and determine from your boyfriend how they respond to different situations in order to get a better guage. Some people I know believe if it's not worth fighting about, it's not really important. That's not to say that they're negative people necessarily. Just very passionate and you always know where they stand. It's possible that his parents are actually just belligerent and judgmental, but from the way you're describing them, they just sound…boisterous. Warning: They may hug a lot.
