What are some good ideas for a Percy Jackson/Camp Half Blood birthday party for a 10 year old girl.?
I have a niece who will be turning 10 in January and she is wanting to have a Percy Jackson/Camp Half Blood birthday party (based more on the books than the movie, because she and all of her friends have read them too!) I've read the books, so I have an idea of what they do, but I'm open for suggestions to making this an awesome party! Here are the ideas I have come up with so far: -serving nectar of the gods (pink lemonade) and ambrosia (cookies?) -playing "Pin the Eye on the Cyclops" -making necklaces and t-shirts as party favors -learning how to write their names in Greek letters (not sure if 10 year olds will think this is cool or lame.. what do you think?) thats about all i've got. we're thinking we should plan for about 2 hours of activity, and then have time for cake and presents at the end. not sure where we're gonna have it yet though. also, since i'm not a parent myself, and i'm pretty open-minded besides, me and my sister were not sure about other parents having an objection to a party talking about greek gods? is it safe to assume parents will know that precy jackson is a movie/book based on greek mythology? anyways, any suggestions on anything at all are greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!
