Do I need to declare a reprimand when applying for a PGCE through the GTTR?

ANOTHER question about my damned reprimand, but here goes....
My path has lead me to apply for a PGCE this year in Drama. I have a reprimand from 2005 for shoplifting, and I am aware it will show up on all enhanced CRB's until I am 100 years old. Funnny, huh. Anyway, on the GTTR apply section, it asks you to declare any criminal records. Should I declare this here, as it does not give me a chance to explain, and I really don't want to be ignored as a strong candidate for a ridiculous mistake I made as a child. I know I will have to declare this for Jobs in schools, but is it necessary to declare it during my application phase.

Will I ever make it as a teacher with a reprimand? I am working in a school as a cover teacher currently, and declared my reprimand to them and they accepted this with my reasons, and that I feel it helps me relate to the kids as I understand what it 's like getting involved in the wrong crowd.

Any advice is hugely appreciated,
Thanks

Will PGCE help me to teach abroad?

The "standard" qualifications are a degree and a TEFL certificate. Although your PGCE is equivalent there may be the problem that schools and/or government officials just won't recognise or understand what it is despite the fact you'll be better qualified and experienced than most teachers out there!!

Having said that, many schools in China do accept people with other qualifications quite simply because there aren't enough teachers to go round. However, these are usually at the less prestigious schools.

What I'd suggest is this: apply for a number of jobs with the PGCE and see what kind of reaction you get. You may well get work and have a good time over there for the academic year (it's unlikely you'll find just a 6 month contract).

As regards the TEFL certificate, you can always take one online which is a much cheaper option (e.g. the cert costs 155 GBP from http://icalweb.com)

How do you become a numerologist? is certification needed?

Hello,

Numerology is an excellent subject to study, I am a professional Numerologist and my website is AstroStar Numerology.

The main thing I have found in my twenty-four years of its service; is that there is a lot of information available and everybody has a different perspective on it. Whilst this can seem frustrating it actually forms an extremely worthwhile database because this offers the reader different angles on a subject that really earns its credit from the intuition that a person develops from using it wisely. So the best advice I can offer is to keep reading about Numerology, keep the bits that sit comfortably with you and disregard the rest! Then compile your own style and then most importantly of all - believe in it and in yourself! The Numbers will always work with you and through you. Classes are probably a good thing but dictate to a degree 'their way and their rules of play'. I also believe certificates only validate you by somebody else's standards, I think word of mouth is the best method of credibility. After all clairvoyants and psychics don't show you their certificates do they? I started out for many years doing free charts for people, mostly friends or work colleagues, to gain my confidence and personal histories of the Number combinations. Once I became sure of myself I decided to Go for It! and have never looked back since. If you are also interested in divination and parapsychology this will also come out in your Numerology Readings.

Good Luck - Not that you need it.

Kind Regards

Karen Foster

Can anyone help with my job application for an art technician?

I'm applying to be a full time art technician at a local college. My past education has been in art and design and I am a practicing freelance graphic designer. I want to move into the education sector as I fill it offers a more reliable income but I'm not sure I should be saying that on the form. I would like to progress to study a PGCE in art and design one day and the role would offer excellent experience for that, but since the role is permanent I do not want to hint that I might be leaving in a year or two. I did find that whilst studying my art and design courses the technicians help was invaluable as the teacher was often very rushed, and feel on some part at least, I owe my degree to their help and input.

So the major obstacle on the application form of which I am struggling with most is the "Why do you want to work for us question?"

BA (Hons) Graphic Design (therefore creative suite, microsoft, quark all on mac and PC)
Foundation Diploma in Art and Design
A Levels in Art, Design and Media
10 GCSE's A*- C including Art, Design, English, Maths..

Work Experience
1 year working as a freelance designer

What degree would you need to become an elementary school art teacher?

Elementary education teachers help students in grades 1-6 learn about subjects ranging from mathematics to language arts. A bachelor's degree is usually required to become an elementary education teacher. However some schools require teachers to earn a master's. A professional experience is also often necessary. In addition to a college degree, different states have various certification requirements for teaching.
