Pharmaseutical Drug Allergies And Weed.

I'm having a severe allergic reaction to a sulfa drug. How long will the side effects last?

On Christmas eve I was prescribed Septra generic for a Urinary Tract Infection. I was given a weeks worth and finished it. After I finished, I started having allergic reactions. I broke out in hives that are just now starting to go away, but they weren't the problem. My digestive system was hit hard by this drug, I have a constant pain in my left side, most of the time I feel nauseous, and I seem to only defecate mostly mucous and blood. I went to the doctor a week ago, and he gave me Nexium, which doesn't seem to be doing much at all. I have another appointment in two days, but something tells me they aren't going to be able to do much. It's been 3 weeks so far, and I'm at the end of my wits. How much longer will I have to go through this?

I really need to know if I'm allergic to sulfa drugs when I use a prescription facial cleanser with sulphur?

Well, based on your past experience with sulphur, and the fact that you have no other allergies, the likelihood is low that you would have a problem. Allergies often build up over time and if you've had no reaction you likely won't have one. People who have allergies tend to have more than one, and you haven't had any. To make you feel safer, just be aware of any side effects that may come up - itching or a rash would be the most likely that would need to be dealt with. You could get some Benadryl to have on hand if you feel that you need to - Benadryl is a strong over-the-counter antihistamine (allergy medicine) that stops reactions.

I think you need to stop reading the worst into things - it's easy to psyche yourself out, especially with all the info online, it's easy to think you have a brain tumor or cancer when it's only a headache. There's no indication in your history that you told here that you'd have a problem.

Have you ever had an allergic reaction to a prescription drug?

I am allergic to several prescription drugs and it depends on which one I took as to how long the reaction took to recover from. There is no way I can name all my drug allergies but the longest recovery time was about a week for Demerol and the same for Codeine. They had to pack my arm in ice to get the swelling down when they gave me a shot of Codeine and what made me mad was I told them I was allergic to it but they gave it to me anyway cause the Dr. ordered it. Always ask what they are giving you before you get it, you have the right to refuse any medication.

What is the legal procedure to ban a pharmaceutical drug in India?

You can write for the problems/side effects to several govt. and private pharmacovigilance bodies including the manufacturer’s . If still you do not get any response you can complain to the drug approving authority like CDSCO in India.

Allergy medicine with marijuana?

NOT RECOMMENDED....
But last time I did...
I was great! You know when you first tried marijuana... Like that again. I felt more of a body buzz. This is typically more of a sativa then an indica (head buzz). At recommended package doses of cold medication, no matter how much pot you smoke, you going to end up ok. Marijuana won't hurt you, but it might effectively "double dose" you with the cold medication. Maximum doses of medication are set safely low. A healthy person can double the dose and everything will be just fine. However for legal reasons I must stress that you shouldn't do this.
I often smoke pot when I have a flu or a cold and it always helps me feel much better then any store bought medication. I have only had these pleasant experiences with contact C, and sudifed. I don't and would not recommend doing this recreationaly, but next time I'm sick I won't hesitate. As far as I've read THC doesn't react with any kind of drug. The effects felt are just an amplification fo the "feeling" each gives you.

How do I implement drug-allergy and drug-drug interaction?

I presume this might be for Meaningful Use?Take a look at the OpenEMR forums, where there is some discussion of this.Take a look at the RXNORM database, which provides a list of drugs. I don't think it helps with allergies or interactions, however. If you just want to do this, but don't actually need to program it yourself, Practice Fusion is a free Meaningful Use compliant EHR. (I have no relationship with them, other than as a user).

Is it illegal to give someone my prescription drugs?

If someone I knew wanted me to pick up prescription drugs for them but if the drugs were for me and if I let someone use my prescription drugs and they had an allergic reaction and died from the drug that was under my name, will I get in trouble and be liable? Is it actually illegal to share my prescription drugs for someone that isn’t over the counter?

Is penicillin a prescription drug?

bullshat. i am not really sure why it is considered a prescription only drug but i have been given antibiotics numerous times in my life and NEVER has a doctor taken a culture or tested me for allergic reactions first.
true enough that certain antibiotics work best with certain infections but they are no more harmful than many other OTC drugs. the simple fact is that most OTC medications only "treat" most illnesses - while antibiotics have the ability to "cure". and that requires money... here in the US
even something as harmless as "kwell" or "quell" lotion that kills/ cure scabies - an itchie skin mite like lice- is prescription only and it is harmless, only used for said ailment, impossible to abuse or get addicted to and so on. so why go to a doctor and spend 80 to $150 to get a script for it?
how many people go to the doctor only to get a prescription for something they already knew they needed? i recently got conjunctivitis. i get it from time to time, allergy related. i knew i needed antibiotic / steroid eye drops. they are harmless, easy to apply, inexpensive, and impossible to abuse. yet i had to call off work, see a doctor, bill my insurance and so forth - cost me $50, my insurance paid $150. Dr looked at me for 2 minutes, wrote a script for eye drops that cost $19 and that was it.
how many millions of dollars are spent by individuals and insurance companies daily to oil the financial juggernaut of american medicine? and you wonder why health insurance and coverage is so jacked up in the US? ... how many "poor" doctors have you every heard of? how many hospitals shut down due to financial hardship? feck obama's health care reform and american medical rip off artists. its all too corrupt to fix at this point. revolution is eminent.
