Ryan has only faced one tough defense in New England. All of his tds are against lackluster teams. He's going up against the stingy Bears D that has only allowed 4 passing tds, despite their opponents averaging 40 attempts a game. His forecast looks blan. Rivers however, has faced some of the best defenses the league has to offer, like Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Rivers has played a much harder schedule so far and is still ahead of Ryan in fantasy points. Not to mention Rivers' supporting cast, consisting of players like Antonio Gates, Ladainian Tomlinson, and Vincent Jackson, whom, might I add, is quickly becoming one of the elite WRs in the league. Flacco is definitely having a great season, there's no doubting that. But, I wouldn't start any QB that's going up against the #1 defense in the league, the Minnesota Vikings. Bottom line - Let the Rivers flow!

Ryan: Roddy White - Stud Michael Jenkins - Dud Tony Gonzales - Former Stud Michael Turner - NOT a pass catching back Rivers: Vincent Jackson - Stud Malcolm Floyd - One of the most underrated WR's in the league. Antonio Gates - Stud Ryan Mathews - Good receiver out of the backfield. Looks to me that Philip Rivers actually has the better targets.....I digress though. If you look at numbers, most will point to Philip Rivers as the better QB, but, if you look at overall athletic talent and arm strength, then Matt Ryan is the better QB. That said, it's hard to say who's really better but, in my mind, I think that Matt Ryan is the better QB right now. He's younger, he reads the field incredibly well, he can throw the "out" route better than pretty much everyone not named Rodgers, Brady or Manning and he has enough athletic talent to move around and extend the play. Philip Rivers does a lot of the same things, but, his arm strength is questionable, and his mobility is virtually identical to Peyton Manning's....or...nil. If I had to choose one to start a team with, I would select Ryan @Sportsguy94 - Fact check my man.....Ryan Mathews played in 12 games, while starting 9 of them. His numbers were average, for a rookie selected that high, but, he displayed a LOT of talent on routes out of the backfield. He is, hands down, a better receiving back and this year, I believe 350-400 yards and 3-5 TD's out of the backfield are possible....Turner won't sniff that. Vincent Jackson was out until week 11, but after he returned, he showed why he's one of the leagues best, tallying 5 catches for 248 yards and 3 TD's. Gates is not the best TE in the league anymore, but, he is in the Top 3...Gonzales is not and will not be again, and Malcolm Floyd is markedly better as a #2 WR than Michael Jenkins is. Anyone that watches ball knows that...... Rivers has better targets overall. Roddy White, I will agree however, may be the best WR in the NFL right now.
