You broke your phone, but you don't say whether you currently have a contract. If you do have a current contract, it doesn't end because you broke your phone. You still have to complete your contract by purchasing another phone, or you have to pay to get released from your contract, usually around $200 or so. It's a little hard to read your details without any punctuation, but I'll do my best. Walmart has contract phones and pre-paid phones. You can't buy a phone without a contract or pre-paid plan. Walmart has to activate the phone. Walmart is like any other phone vendor, no better and certainly less knowledgeable than other vendors. Which phone service you purchase depends on where you live, where you travel, and how the phone service is in those areas. I have to use Verizon because there are areas I frequently visit that have no coverage from any other service than from Verizon. Check the coverage maps for each service you are considering. The price depends on how many minutes you use. If you are using over 200 minutes a month, it may be cheaper to buy a contract than pre-paid, so consider your typical usage pattern. Boost has unlimited phone, text and Internet for $50 per month, so that might be an option to consider if you have Boost in your area. Metro PCS has a similar plan for $40 per month, but without the Internet. Also, most phone services have a discount for employees of major companies and their families, so see if there is a discount. As for transferring old numbers and pics, if your old phone is broken, it's not likely that Walmart will be able to help you, and if you have a different phone service from before, you may not be able to get anyone to do it for you. Unlimited texting is usually $10 per month extra on contracts, not sure if it's available on pre-paid. I think most carriers charge $1 per day for unlimited texting, but I haven't checked in awhile. sadly no. it is a cdma phone and a pre-paid carrier at that. compared to Verizon or Sprint who both carry CDMA phones and have been in the game for a while, Metro PCS at the moment can not compete with coverage, customer support and web based account management. in order for them to offer their price for unlimited minutes and data, they had to sacrifice a lot of customer support and that includes "self- activation" which is usually available on a Major wireless carrier's website. I have dealt with Metro PCS's customer service over the phone, and all I can say is "I got what I paid for". If you do make that call, just make sure you've got a whole day available and take note that not all of Metro PCS support think the same, if you can't get results from the first call, just keep calling......worst case, transfer to another carrier.

93 Geo Metro overheating problem?
I had overheating problems that I thought were fixed and the last time it overheated the gauge was normal and there was no visible smoke it lost power until the car stalled and I opened the hood. Even after cooling off the car won't start, even tried it days later, it shakes and makes sounds like some cylinders are working, others not. Won't start no matter what, even tried it with the gas pedal down also. If the temperature ever goes above where it normally is have it checked ASAP. You can destroy an engine (or head gasket) without going into the red. You can even destroy it without any obvious signs. You got a warning, heed it!

Great advice, Minister of Truth. I went to http://ca.my.yahoo.com/, signed in and there was my old (and 1000% better than the new version) of my yahoo. I've set that as my home page and assume it will work until yahoo gets around to inflicting the horrible new version on Canadians. Then I guess I'll move on to yahoo UK, Australia, etc. and try to stay 1 step ahead of the "improved" version for as long as I can.
