What does pigeon hole mean?
To categorize them. To apply certain qualities to them and not detour from that way of perceiving them. Akin to stereotyping them but not having to do with them belonging to a group but as an individual. You are taking some of their individual traits and reducing them to being constrained to only those traits and what they involve. The government can be pigeon-holed by taking only some aspects of what it does or has done and viewing it as only being this way. Such as only concentrating on some of the liberal policies made and then stating the whole of the government is liberal.
How do you avoid being pigeon-holed?

Sometimes, I am more of a Vivaldi person”While I am a US citizen by birth, I hadn’t lived in US since I was a toddler at that point. So, rather than retreat into my “ethnic nerd” world, I ventured forth - watching Sesame Street, reading a lot of books my fellow students had read in high school, trying out all sorts of foods (being an omnivore helped) and, in general, tried to build connections in every direction possible. It helped. :)
Pigeon-Hole Principle?
The previous answers have the right idea, but not the right precision. How do we know that this will work for any 10 integers? There's something called modulo arithmetic. Basically, it counts by whatever you're modding by (so mod 3 means you count 0,1,2,0,1,2...). The nice thing about this, is in mod X, if Y=NmodX (Y is equivalent to N modX), you know that the difference between Y and N is a multiple of X. Let's look at your case. We want to be looking in mod(10). There are ten possibilities for any one integer to be, mod 10. They are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and 9. Now we want to put eleven things into this set uniquely. It can't be done. You can't put 11 pigeons into 10 holes and have 1 per hole. So two of the integers must be equivalent mod 10. This means that their difference is a multiple of 10. Tada!

The second person has 5 strands of hair, you make them stand in queue 5 and so on. In the worst case, after measuring a million people, you'd have a million queues with each queue consisting of one person who has the same amount of hair as the queue number, so queue 1,00,000 will have a person with 1,00,000 strands of hair. The pigeonholes(Or the queues) are the number of hair strands on someone's head while the pigeons are the people that are matched to a queue(pigeonhole) based on the amount of hair they have.

Consider that you're probably using base 10. That means that the last digit of any 10 integers can be from 0 to 9, inclusive. Thus, the 11th must repeat one of the previously used last digits, as we only have 10 "holes" to place numbers in. That's the pigeon-hole principle. @TwillLover: You haven't had much math, it seems. Why are INFJs pigeonholed as feeling types? I find myself far less affected by emotional turmoil than my close INTX. Often I find myself grounding them when their emotional tether has been cut and they are out to orbit. Is there any insight/input?
Anyone who pigeonholes anyone else based on Myers-Briggs clearly do not fully understand how Myers-Briggs tests are meant to be used. A huge aspect of Myers-Briggs personality is that a person's personality is a wide spectrum. There is no such thing as a 100% introvert or 100% extrovert for instance. Instead you have people who are IXXX who are 60 or 70% introverted. Second the point of personality tests is to understand yourself better, what your strengths or likely weaknesses are and help you understand tendencies for others. Tendencies never should be equal to forcing someone into a stereotype. The insight I have would be to not pigeonhole yourself or others and ignore those who think it's ok to pigeonhole people.
