Place To Go To Shoot Pool

21 to shoot pool??

There are some pool halls around me that have the same policy. They have televisions and eating areas in one area, and pool/ air hockey tables are in another, closer to the bar. Anyone under 21 must stay out of the game table/bar area. I think it's to make it easier on waitresses in regards to carding and keep the facility's butt covered legally, while still being able to offer somewhat of a family/ underage friendly atmosphere.

How much do you pay to play pool?

Most places I go to will have an early rate of $3/hr or so. Later in the evenings, it'll get up to $8 - $14/hr depending on the place. The more expensive places tend to be more like clubs and sports bars.

Coin-op tables like the ones in bars are usually $1/game.

Why do you have to be 18 to play pool?

Do they get a lot of people drinking there if so this could be the case if there are a lot of boozers and they start swearing and fighting, then this is not a place for under 18s but arguably you should be allowed in there until about seven in the evening. Pool is a game which can be played by anybody what ever age they are it is pathetic that you are not allowed to play, the only games you are not allowed to play are gambling games.

Is shooting pool Japan popular?

Yeah there are many places. In Japan they call it ビリヤード biriyaado (obviously from the english 'billiards') but it's actually just American 9-ball pool not the original billiards.

There are pool-halls all over the place, I've only ever been in the evening after drinks but I guess they'd be open in the day as well. It seems quite a popular evening activity, although not as popular as karaoke etc. Actually there are sometimes pool tables in sports-bars and large karaoke complexes, but they usually prefer to put in dart boards. I suggest you look for them in the popular night-life areas, i.e around bars/karaoke places etc. If you're living in Tokyo I wouldn't think you'll have any problem finding one.

I've seen a few snooker tables in some of the pool clubs but not that many; if you search around you might find some. Also if you're planning to play a lot it would probably be a good idea to join one of the places.. you'll probably get a membership card and some discount every time you play.

Can me and my friends go into the bar to play pool?

I'm 16, two of my friends are 17, and the other is 18. We love playing darts and play in one of the 17 year old's garage. But we all claim we could kick each others asses at pool... but we don't know anybody with a pool table. There's a bar down the street that I know has a pool table in it, I know because my dad (who goes there often) took me in there to play with him... The bartender even offered to serve me... I live in Northeast Ohio. I'm wondering if it's legal for me and my friends to walk in there and play some pool.

Where can a minor play pool?

From my experience, as long as you conduct yourself well, you can play in most any pool hall. I played in pool halls when I was just 12. I never had any problems. A long time has passed since then and times have changed, so it may be best to call first and ask.

Bars DO have rules and laws regarding minors, however. In some cases, if you're accompanied by an adult, you can play pool as long as you are not sitting at the bar. If the bar has a restaurant, you should be allowed to play.

Rules do vary from state to state. If you're apprehensive, you can call the establishment and tell them your age, and ask if you can come in to just play pool. Let them know that you're young but you're a serious pool player. If they won't allow you to play, ask if he/she knows of a place where you can play pool.

Try a Bowling Alley --- many have pool tables.

Keep on shooting!

Are there any good places to play pool (billiards) in the Bay Area?

In San Francisco, Family Billiards is THE only place (currently) to go for full size 9-foot tournament size tables (approx. 20 tables). In the front of Family Billiards, they have a few tight tables, where a few regulars play one pocket or 9-ball. If you go during the weekdays, Monday through Wednesday they have a 4-7pm 1/2 table time and 1/2 off beer promotion. Currently, regular rates are about 1-person $8/hr. 2-person ~$14/hr, etc. So the half off promotion is a great time to get in some practice hours. They also have one-day tournaments (call to check for days/times). Check out their webpage:http://www.familybilliards-sf.co...And see some yelp reviews: http://www.yelp.com/biz/family-b...

Do you have to be 21 to play pool at a "Bar and Billiards" place?

At least one pool hall I know of here in Las Vegas is all ages up until 10pm and they serve alcohol. You really do have to ask the specific place you want to go, but I'm sure you can play just about anywhere if you're accompanied by an adult.
