Forgive me my Capitals orientation... What transactions in your NHL teams past have had long lasting after - effects? Example 1 - Robert Picard traded from Caps to Leafs for Mike Palmateer Picard traded by Leafs to Habs for Bunny Larocque Picard traded by Habs to Jets for a 3rd round draft pick that turned into Patrick Roy... Example 2 - Scott Stevens accepts offer sheet from the Blues, Caps compensated by draft picks that yielded Sergei Gonchar, Brendan Witt, and others. This led down through the years to drafting Varlamov - traded to the Avs for a pick that brought Filip Forsberg - traded for Martin Erat. Erat now asking for a trade. The real question is - What transactions by your favorite team ( or another team ) have had long lasting ripples in hockey history? Looking for hockey knowledge from my seniors, but all thoughts are welcome...
