Playstation 3 or 4?
Right now I am using my computer for gaming on steam(I play Skyrim and Gta4). I have decided to buy playstation, but after some research I've become insecure about wether I should buy playstation 3 or 4. I want to use it for the games I played on PC+ Cod or BF, and probably more games later. I've heard ps3 have focused more on all the things outside the gaming, while ps4 is better for gaming but worse on the other stuff:S
Can PlayStation 3 play DVDs?
Yes, the PS3 is capable of playing DVD movies. However, they cannot play the DVD based PS2 titles, which are roughly the same format as your standard DVDs. As with most subjective answers, this one is “depends”.Since you don’t own (and will not own anytime soon) a 4K TV, that particular feature is irrelevant.There are however three more factors to take into account:Price. The PS4 is now slightly cheaper than it was at launch, also more widely available. When the NEO launches it will cost more than a current ps4 and will likely be more scarce.Increased Power. The PS4 NEO will be more powerful than the current PS4. That means the games will look better and play smoother. By how much will depend on the gap, but Sony has confirmed more than once that all games will be playable on a standard PS4.Time. You can play PS4 games now, instead of waiting until the NEO arrives.If you want the Increased Power and don’t mind the wait or the price. Wait until NEO releases. If the increased power isn’t that important (It isn’t to me for example), then buy a PS4 now and play a lot of very good games sooner.
Should I buy a PlayStation 3 now?
Depends on what of a title you would want to play . 1.) If you're the type of guy who wants to own and play the latest games in the market I'd suggest you to go for a next-gen console or a PC(If you can cash out) depending on your convenience .2.) Casuals , and just wanting to play old platinum selling games and indie titles , then PS3 should make you feel at home .
Do playstation 4 games work on playstation 3?
No, you can't play Playstation 4 games on The Playstation 3 and you can't play Playstation 3 games on The Playstation 4 because The Playstation 4 is not backwards compatible and I suggest you keep your Playstation 3 to play your Playstation 3 games.

Uhoh.. That's probably the new CECHK01 model PS3.. They're no longer backwards-compatible with PS2.. If it's only got (2) USB ports, that's what you have.. The older CECHE01 models had (4) USB ports and were said to have "limited backwards-compatibility" through as software-based emulator.. The $399 80GB and a $499 160GB (due to release this fall) and neither one of 'em will carry backwards-compatibility..
