Pls Help Before I End Up In A Psych Ward Or Dead

Suicide Watch/Psych Wards - Please help?

I've been on a psych ward six times due to my suicidal thoughts and self harm thoughts.

The point of being there is to prevent you from harming yourself. Once safety is established they will take action on the fronts of talk therapy, group therapy, family therapy, patient education, and medicine.

After you are considered stable, have a course of treatment and a support plan and safety plan you'll be let out again with follow up appointments with your outside doctors and talk therapist. You may also be put int a partial hospitalization program where you continue your hospital activities during the day but get to go home to sleep.

By the way all you have to do is call 1-800-Suicide to have someone to talk to at any time. All you have to do is show up at an ER and say you are suicidal to start the treatment process.

Edit: Average stay lengths vary according to your safety level and the confidence of the staff that you will not go out and immediately harm yourself if released. Shortest stay I ever saw was an overnight stay by one patient--however they had a medicine imbalance that was easily addressed. Longest stay I have witnessed was several weeks for a very persistent deep depression where person started off not even eating. Average stay length I would say is something like 3 to 10 days.

Would you be mad at your 17-year-old daughter if she attempted suicide days before Christmas and ended up in a psych ward?

Dear Child, I have a child two years younger and let me tell you losing a child especially to suicide is extremely sorrowful.I lost my dad about 3 years back when he committed suicide and not a day goes by without me crying, feeling guilty because I remember all those moments that he cared for me, taught me to be brave, stood up for me and to lose him was devastating.I wish I could turn back time but I am helpless. With a child, the feeling is entirely different. A mother spends all her life collecting memories of her child- the child's first step, the child's first words, his school, his teachers, friends etc and all the child's memories become the mothers.Feeding the child, cleaning, kissing him, shouting and secretly enjoying naughty mistakes, the child's sadness all become a part of the mother. And talking to the child, his personality becomes an integral part of you.Children give the mothers life a whole new meaning. You are the sunshine in her life, your pain is rainfall and your troubles are the storm and typhoons.Without you a mother's life will be meaningless because you are a part of her born through her and you have taught her so many lessons of life. Please do not end your life, because her life and a part of her will also end with you. There will be a lot of questions as to why the child did not trust enough to tell the reason, what is the mistake that was made by her for you to take this step and believe me the mind of the survivor is unforgiving. It will kill her inside out, if her sanity does prevail. Please do not end your life dear child, it is a request of a mother to a daughter. You are too precious and maybe there are fights, problems and lots of confusion, but nothing is insurmountable unlike losing the most precious being-YOU.

Can someone please explain the Uninvited ending?

Yes, I watched the whole movie but at the end i was kind of confused. So here is what i'm confused about..

1) So Alex died when her mom did? In the fire? And she wasen't with Anna throughout the movie?

2) How did Anna see Alex all the time?

3) Why did she let Matt die? Why did the next morning seem like she had no idea why he was dead?

thats pretty much the main.. but if you could sum up the ending as well that would be great ;D

How many sleeping pills can cause death in 10 seconds?

I ended up taking 96 25mgs sleeping tablets and they took 45 minutes to kick in I completely forgot that I had taken them. I started having seizures, my body started to become numb I couldn't move my body became dead weight it was like I was paralysed. I started to have hallucinations my vision was going really blurry. I threw up a lot of blood. It wasnt painful but it was annoying I kept thinking I'll be asleep in a minute but I never fell asleep. This was on the 22/07/18. I wanted to die I have really bad mental health illnesses. I ended up in hospital the day after and the nurse went white with shock she tried to get some blood out of me but it took her 5 attempts to get some out. I had a lot of tests done on me. My heart rate was over 97 beats per minutes. I had to see mental health at hospital. 26/07/18 I had the police come to my door to tell me my brother had died I broke completely shattered. I still do want to die I have a lot of problems and constantly fighting against mental health but my brain always wins. All I am going to say is you need some sort of help. I know life can be tough but I'm sure in you heart of hearts that people do care about you and will help you to get out of this black hole of depression. Keep your chin up we all have purpose and you can achieve a lot in your life. Please keep fighting and stay strong.

What questions would a therapist ask a depressed teenage girl?

I would use the word psychologist over therapist - it adds to the mood of the book.

a book you may want to refer to is "Scarred" by Sophie Andrews.
It is very horrific and graphic though... for some people it is too much trauma to imagine, especially since is is a true story.
It is a story about a young girl called Sophie and she has been adopted.
Her and her father have always been close, so when her parents divorce, she stays with her father.

Her father sexually abuses her in the worst ways imagnable, using broken bottles and knives just to name a few of the horiffic details and she ends up in a psychiatric ward. When she gets there, they tip her bag upside down and find her blades in the lid of her deoderant can, and take them off her, and she feels totally lost without them.

She calls on the samaritans for help when she feels like its over for her, and they help her survive and get through her suicide attempts, which are also very graphic. But the ending is good and happy, so thats something to read towards and keep in mind.

Like I said, this book is not for the light hearted or people who are easily upset.

It may give you ideas on what a psych ward is like and how some others behave when they're in there.

Psychologist generally ask questions such as "Do you have suicidal thoughts?" "Why do you think you feel this way?" "How long have you felt this down?" "Do you want to talk about what's upset you in your life to make you depressed"

Psychologists maintain 100% confidentiality, except if there is a direct danger such as abuse, or a client admitting to murder etc.
When they must tell the police, or docs etc. but cannot give out names.

Good luck, your book sounds like an interesting one.

Dreaming of a mental hospital?

Dreams, Schmeams! Dreams are the product of an overactive imagination!

In this case, I'll attempt to consult the Cosmic Consciousness. Though, I'm not particularly feeling otherworldly today. (Also, that part about the woman's head falling off in the street was kind of funny).

Feeling hemmed in? Mental hospital dreams are dreams of feeling unable to express one's self--closeted, so to speak, and that could be artistically--music, art, writing, sculpting, singing. That older "lady" represents an asspect of yourself. She is not necessarily a separate entity. One could be dealing with issues (or people) that cause one to feel as though one is not getting what one needs to grow and develop and to feel good ("they didn't give you medication"). The dreams expresses the hope of freedom but also some misgivings about this freedom.
