If all you do is check e-mail and browse the Web, the Celeron is fine, and the price difference can save you a lot of money. If you want the fastest machine you can buy, then you need to go with the Pentium 4 to get the highest clock speeds and the fastest system bus. Pentium is more powerful and yes, you can upgrade from a celeron to a Pentium anytime. Using it for .net is fine, but remember to go for the highest Ghzs you can get for optimal speed for .net. My keyboards annoying; if you have a laptop, you will know what the "fn" key does so plz try help?
Look at your keyboard and one of the keys should say somethin about num lock. On my laptop, it is on one of the upper left keys. When you find it, hold down the FN key and hit that key. It should turn off the number lock. Good luck.
