Politically Speaking; Do You Find Parroters More Annoying Than Trolls

Why are gun advocates so angry when Americans propose pro-life solutions to gun violence?

I’m not sure what you mean by “pro-life” solutions. In US political parlance, “pro-life” = opposed to abortion. If you mean the false arguments that anti-gun people make, for example: if AR15 where banned, it would save children”, pro-gun people disregard those facile arguments, because they operate from an assumption that inanimate machines of Aluminum, plastic a steel are what “cause” violence.People kill people. Some have used AR15s. Some have used other types of guns, some have used rental trucks filled with homemade explosives, some have just used rental trucks driven into crowds, some have hijacked airplanes and flown them into buildings.Pro-gun people wonder why “gun-violence” is seen as a different issue than “violence”.Why is 25 children gunned down in a school (Newtown, CT) somehow “worse” than 25 children killed in a bomb blast (Oklahoma City)?Seriously? The argument “my right to live trumps your right to own a gun” is a facile argument. There is no specific right to be guaranteed some magical society where there is no possible way you could be killed, and even if such a right existed, there’s no way to realize it.You have a right to self-defense (in the US, self-defense is not a right in many “enlightened” European societies). You have a right to defend your home and/or property (again, in the US, does not necessarily apply to Europe). You have an expectation that police, security and emergency services, paid for with your tax $$ will be responsive to your needs. The facile “pro-life” arguments of anti-gunners wither under any logical scrutiny. Guns are not even in the top 10 causes of death in the US. Preventable medical error kills 100x more people than gunfire in the US.

Why are brexiteers always so angry? Surely it is the remainers who should be upset, but they seem a lot more laid back about it all.

I am an angry remainer. What you might be seeing is not a lack of anger but instead a lack of noise. Brexit is the tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing. There is anger in remain but it is directed anger. It is letters written to MPs, to newspapers, to broadcasters. It is organised protests - 700,000 people do not just turn up to protest by themselves it takes organisation. There is anger but it isn’t red-faced flailing. It isn’t someone getting mad outside a pub and punching someone. This is making the case honestly and repeatedly that there is a better way.If you believe that Brexit is bad for the UK, if you sincerely believe it, then you have a duty to your country to do everything within the law to stop it. It might not work but it is the right thing to do. Anger is driving this.Of course people will call us names. The grown-ups might even offer counter arguments rather than bile and slogans (and to be fair to the leave movement there are some grown ups amongst them). And each day we get called names we can turn on the news and see one more MP, one more business leader, one more economist speaking out against Brexit. So yes there is anger and anger drives determination. What else did anyone expect when they try and take away our jobs, our rights, our presence on the world stage, our security, our futures and our children’s futures? Were people honestly so naive that they thought anyone would give this up without challenge?Still waters run deep.

What are some easy-to-spot signs that someone is not worth debating?

I literally just had a conversation with a girl about therapy animals.TL;DR She ends up saying “ok whatever” when I voiced my opinion. This is because she wanted to spit her opinions down my trachea instead of listening to mine. So, I was at the gym today. I saw quite a giant woman walking around the cafe area with a very tiny dog that had a jacket. On that jacket, read “service dog.”Hmm. Blind? No. Deaf? No, she was having a conversation.Diabetes? Maybe…BARK BARK BARKA service dog won't get excited enough to bark around people. It wasn't training, either, because jackets for dogs commonly say they're training. My immediate thought: this fucker is passing off her therapy dog as a service dog so she can bring it to the gym with her. It wasn't well-behaved at all, mind you.I put a PSA on my Snapchat story saying that I don't think it's right to pass off your therapy dog as a service animal. I quoth, “You're sad. Not blind.”(Keep in mind this is coming from a person with a severe anxiety disorder.)The girl 'swiped up' and said, “Wow.”I said, “What?”She proceeded to tell me I'm rude, and that support animals are allowed everywhere. That she “should know” because she has one.Um, congratulations?I told her no, they aren't allowed everywhere. You can't even bring then into restaurants, only service dogs. She told me “emotional disabilities and invisible disabilities” exist.Did she just call me disabled for having depression?Fuck you.I told her I have an anxiety disorder (actually diagnosed, not Tumblr-diagnosed), so naturally my opinion isn't unbiased against those who struggle with mental illnesses. So, she goes, “Ok whatever.”She won't have a conversation with me about the differences between therapy dogs and service dogs because “muh depression.”This entire winter has been filled of suicidal thoughts for me. I have chest pains everyday as a physical side effect from my anxiety. I know mental hindering. I'm not fucking disabled.Rant over.P.S. This isn't meant to be an insult to disabled people. This is merely my two cents on the matter.Edit: Right after this talk, she decided to “take a break from Snapchat.” I think that's a bit funny, considering everyone who tries to “take a break” ends up signing back in after two days.Ah, to feel like a petty child again.
