Politics Why Are Liberals Trying To Dehumanize Pro-constitutional Liberty-lovers

Why do evangelicals like President Trump?

I think most of them know he is an “idiot” (using the words of people I know, not my own). Many cringe when he opens his mouth or starts tweeting. This group voted for him but haven't said much about him since. However, they loathed Obama and thought there would be more of the same with Hilary, who they completely despised. Also, while they didn't care for Trump, they do love Pence. The minority evangelicals who voted for Trump were largely uncomfortable with what was happening with LGBT rights and abortion. And many hated Hilary. I think this group of evangelicals are probably the most regretful; as many of them did not understand until now the extent to which he and his base hates them. His cavalier and hateful attitude towards them hopefully is an eye opener. The white evangelicals who voted for him sometimes felt the same. Many talk about abortion, though they’ve compromised on so much, I don't know, if faced with the choice, if they would stand on that. I do think that many vote republican because they think it's the Christian thing to do based on the news and other information they consume. Not so different than some liberals in that respect. There are significant numbers of Whites evangelicals who simply “wanted their country back.” I know a number of these. Their support of Trump was more about protecting their turf. They do not see themselves as having any advantages; many are scraping by, and they are resentful and angry. They are tired of LGBT rights, civil rights, Black Lives Matters, muslims, immigrants, feminists, liberals, protests (unless they do it), political statements (unless they make them) … and the strides made for transgender people was a personal affront to them. They love Trump because every chance he gets, he skewers the people they hate. They want America to go back to a time when everyone stayed in their places with them at the top of the heap. Trump speaks directly to them. He says what they want to hear.

Why do Liberals and Obama lovers want to see the USA and its people so?

Apparently they do........sad, isn't it..

What happened to American patriotism?

Patriotism is still here. The media just makes it harder to find, and makes fun of it.I am a patriot, and not ashamed to say so. I was born during World War II (a War Baby, not a Baby Boomer). My 4th and 5th great-grandfathers fought in the Revolutionary War, and most ancestors have served in the military. My father served on a destroyer in the South Pacific during WW-II.The son of my school bus driver was killed on Iwo Jima. The son of the local butcher shop owner was a B-17 pilot who was shot down over Italy (he survived in a POW camp).A local bank teller walked with a limp because he lost a leg on Omaha Beach. The father of the cute red-headed cheerleader fought in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany. My step-father served as part of the Marine Detachment on the USS Alabama.Several uncles served on various fronts. The village mayor’s son was a navagator-bombradier on a B-24.Others worked in the factories, building tanks, rifles, jeeps and planes.Still others worked farms to supply food for the troops. My football coach was a Marine in the South Pacific. How could I not be a patriot?

I see Trump compared to Hitler a lot. Is that a fair comparison to make? If so, what are the specific similarities that you can cite that make it a fair comparison?

I think that there is one very significant difference between Trump and Hitler. In the case of Hitler, his rise to power was the result of decades of commitment to that goal. Hitler formulated his ideology during WW I, spent time in prison where he developed it even more, then became so consumed by his own invention that he essentially motivated a movement by the public that ultimately put him into power. It is of course somewhat more complex than that, and I am in no way trying to canonize Hitler. But the point is that he was a “driven” man, and he dedicated his life to achieving the power that he ultimately held.Trump by contrast, never actually intended to be elected to the presidency. His “candidacy” was most likely just an elaborate publicity stunt.Donald Trump is a fraud: Report confirms the billionaire’s presidential bid is a long and calcu...Essentially, he thought that a run for the presidency would be a good way to boost his “brand” recognition. He never expected to actually win. The fact that he did, exposes the most fatal flaw in our politics. We have devolved to the point politically, where almost half of the voters are indifferent to our elections, and the other half are evenly divided between the most extreme fringes of the “system”.In any case, Trump did on several occasions, use race baiting and bigotry to incite his audiences to violence, which was similar to the tactics that Hitler used to gain popularity. The idea is to focus the frustration of the public on a helpless minority. In Hitler’s case it was the Jews, in Trump’s case, immigrants and Muslims.Additionally, once in office, his stream of outright lies seems limitless, and his intimidation of the media tends to legitimize these lies to the point that the public often cannot tell the difference between lies and Truth. Attacking and controlling the media is a tactic universally loved by dictators throughout historyAnd of course, just as any “businessman” who is elected to high public office will try to do, he is relentlessly consolidating his power by eliminating the opposition…ignoring laws intended to limit the ability of the President to become a despot. There are indeed similarities, and they should not be ignored.
