For those who like statistics, I found these, and they show women are not far behind men. If these are good statistics and I believe they are, the percentages are high for the cheaters, and that's got to be hard for both adults and children in our society. Do wives and husbands cheat on each other at bachelor parties?
I have attended two bachelorettes and they put me off the whole concept . Enough for me to decide to do away with the same at my own wedding.Truth be told I saw plenty of women being quite obscene with the strippers. However it's hard to say how many were married and how many single. Still, there was plenty of dry humping and cheap thrills involved.The entire thing felt tasteless and desperate to put it mildly. I wasn't the only one there feeling uncomfortable though. There were enough women who shared my opinion and enough on the other side . Thing is for the first bachelorette I attended I was single, and it was still disgusting! The second one I was married but because of my relationship with the bride I just couldn't get out of it.I am the last person to be a prude , but getting down and dirty while making a spectacle of yourself, with a total stranger who's actually getting paid for this bullshit is just not my idea of fun.And this was in New Delhi, India! In the West I believe it's much worse, things can really get out of control. What exactly do you mean by “infidelity” ? What do you exactly mean by “common” ? Let me explain (no personal examples here !)“Infidelity”. Is it infidelity if, while married (or living with a significant other), you also do love another person (and vice versa), but with no sex implied ? Or just, say, a “secret” dinner with that person ? Huh ? Is it infidelity if, at the end of a summer day, you exchange a “French kiss” with another person ? Huh ? What if that person, once, gave you a blow job (or equivalent), and nothing else ? Huh ? Or, in a time span of 25 years, it happened once or twice that you had sex with somebody else ? So, how do people answer to these polls, given their proper and quite personal vision of what “infidelity” is ? I’d bet you and me have not exactly the same !“Common”. We’ll have to look at statistics, right ? But how reliable are they ? If you were asked for a poll on this subject, would you tell the truth, in a way or the other ? No, maybe. Chinmaya Patnaik, in an excellent answer, refers to figures published by The Telegraph. I am not a statistician… but the results are not very credible, believable. Look : 55% of males are unfaithful. 32% of females are unfaithful. Let’s consider that there are the same number of males and females, and the same number of married (or equivalent) males and females (obvious) [homosexual couples would not change the argument]. This would mean that females have “less infidelity”… but… with, each, more males ! If you can’t “visualize” this, take a paper and a pen. Write down 20 people, 10 males, 10 women, corresponding to 8 couples + 4 singles (two m, two f). Now, try to draw lines that represent infidelity. (Make it simple, use 60%/30%). You will soon find that wherever the lines direct to… There’s a whole lot of “whores” here ! Not credible ! Therefore : either the answers given to the “poll” are not “true”. Men and women might not have the same degree of “honesty” or sincerity in their answers, I have no idea. Or, the questions are not the right ones… Or both.Now, are the French more unfaithful ?
