Popped My Ear Now It Hurts

My neck popped, and now it hurts to look up and turn my head to the right. What can I do to help the pain?

Try soaking in a hot tub with your neck parallel to the bottom. Try to wiggle it gently side-to-side to see if it goes back into place. (I have to do this all the time because my neck is fused.)Ice may help your inflammation.Go to a recommended chiropractor, but make sure they will take x-rays at your first visit. If this type of intervention does not help you, insist on an MRI from an orthopedic doctor or neurosurgeon. INSIST—don’t stand on your head, but insist. You have to know what’s wrong, and x-rays are just preliminary. I had a myelogram because an MRI was insufficient to diagnose me. I hope you don’t have to get that test.My MRI was delayed for far too long and my cervical fusion results have been disappointing. Fusion was necessary, due to spinal cord compression.Don’t play around with a neck injury—it can ruin you.Good luck. Get film copies of all your tests, not just the reports. You can’t imagine the potential pain in the arse it is if you neglect this.

I'm sick and i just popped my ears but now they REALLY hurt!!!! how can i "un-pop" them ????????????

swallow a lot, yawn, drink some water & sometimes chewing crackers helps too.

I sneezed so hard that my ears popped and it hurt, am I ok? Should I see a doctor?

Hi,If they don't hurt anymore and you can hear as well as before you're very probably totally fine.Your internal ear is connected to your throat by the eustachian tubes to equalize pressure, and when you sneezed your eardrum felt a little pressure from inside. It can also happen when you dive underwater or when you take altitude by plane or on a mountain, and it can be quite painful until your internal ear pressure reaches equilibrium again. But if you feel anything isn't as it should be of course go see a doctor, better safe than sorry.Cheers.

My jaw just popped and now my ear hurts...is this normal or...?

I bent over and yawned and my jaw popped and it hurt then I raised up and now my ear aches and it hurts really bad if I do anything, like swallow or even open my mouth. What happened? Do I have an ear infection and that just set it off or is this just something temporary?

I think i popped my ear drum?!?

please dont make fun of me for wanting to cry, it hurts really bad. you would want to cry to in this much pain

My ear just popped really loud now it hurts and feels like there is water or something ? a.s.a..p?

Relax , don't worry. there is a fluid like water in both of your ears which help you balance. The fluid is in a protective bag made from the same material as a hymen. sometimes the muscles in your ears contract due to shock and break the bag, or sometimes it just happens because the hymen is weak. Do not worry the pain is just the protective material healing. If the pain gets too bad just take a couple of pain killers. This is normal so don't worry. It happens to like 1 in 7 people :).
Hope this helps :-)

Does popping your ears hurt? what does it do?

Nothing bad happens when your ears pop. It's part of the design function actually. Your inner ear is connected to the rear of your throat via an eustachian tube. What that lets you do is equalize the pressure inside your head with that of the air around you. There's nothing to fear about doing it, it won't damage anything. The easiest way to do it is by holding your nose closed and gently blowing as if you were trying to blow your nose. Not too hard, though. You can practice doing this at ground level and you will feel the eardrum expand and then relax when the pressure equalizes. It won't hurt at all unless you have a blockage of one of the tubes (there is one for each ear). If it hurts to do it on the ground, you really should see a doctor before you fly to make sure you are clear beforehand. You only need to pop the eardrums if you feel pressure, usually on takeoff and landing. You can also opt to chew a big wad of gum at those two times, as chewing also extends the eustachian tube to an extent. That can help you avoid needing to actually pop your ears at all. Remember, it's just like blowing your nose, only a little gentler. And don't be scared. When it works, it's your assurance that all your systems are in working order, operating exactly like they should do.

My ear hurts when I try to pop it and it won't pop. Why?

A little faster way to clear your head and eustachian tube is steam. You can do this in a couple of ways. One is to pour hot water like you were making tea water pour it in a large bowel, cover your head with a bath towel and hang your head and towel over the bowel creating a tiny steam chamber. For added effect you can add menthal (like methalation chest rub). The other way is to turn your bathrom into a steam chamber by running the shower on hot allowing it fill you bathroom with steam. A hot shower is good but you can only stay in the water so long.BTW when you do something that caues you paind it’s your body’s way of saying KNOCK IT THE HELL OFFF ALREADY.

Why does my ear hurt after popping my jaw a lot?

Well first I've gotta ask why your jaw pops in the first place. Typically, your jaw does not “pop” unless you grind your teeth or put a lot of undue strain on your jaw. When you do this, your jaw is actually out of place from where it should be. This could be putting pressure on your ear that it isn't used to (since your jaw goes all that way back to your ear). Try placing your index finger right in front of your ear, just behind your sideburn area, then move your jaw around. The small piece that you feel moving around is in fact part of your jaw and is quite sensitive, as is your ear. If I were you, I would consult your dentist about this next time you go in for a checkup. They can fit you with grind-guards to wear at night that will prevent you from grinding your teeth or doing other things that may be putting strain on your jaw.
