Prenatal Pills Every Other Day If Not Trying To Get Pregnant

Can my gf get pregnant even after taking a contraceptive pill?

Contraceptive pills act on substituting your natural hormonal production and therefore suppressing your menstrual cycle with a sort of “artificial menopause” (notice commas) during which your ovaries suspend hormonal production and tgerefore ovulation, cycle, and menstruation. In order for it to work you need to take the drug on a daily basis for as long as you need to be protected. If you start taking it on the first or second day of the period you are theoretically able to start having intercourse with no other protection right away, if you start taking it on any other day you will still have to use a secondary BC method for the whole first month. As a matter of facts, though, gynecologists usually suggest not to rely solely on the pill for the whole first month anyway.Besides, hormonal contraceptives should not be used by women having a mutated Factor V Leiden or other abnormalities of the blood coagulation system (about 10% of all women, if I don’t remember wrong). In such women using the pill even for a short period can lead to extremely severe thrombosis, ictuses and similar risks, which are potentially deadly. For this reason you should never take a birth control pill unless you have been cleared as OK by a doctor. If you are looking for BC methods that do not require to be used daily, then probably condoms are a better option for you. Condoms, if used properly, are nearly as safe as the pill (used correctly as well), have no side effects or relevant risks, and you can far more easoily pick up a pack from a pharmacy or a supermarket with no need for a prescription.

5 months of trying and still not pregnant, is it normal?

well, i got married in july 2007 and have been taking the pill since june 2007, but stopped them in november 2007, me and my husband have been trying from then on until now. is it normal that it takes that long after the pill?, my docter said that it won't take very long for me because i'm young and healthy, i turned 20 in march. i would just like to know if anybody had the same thing or if it took even longer for you? even when your 20 years old? i heard it takes faster to conceive when your young, i'm also taking prenatal vitamins since december, does that speed up the time to concieve too? i just need answers and a little advice from people that went through the same thing.

Is it ok to skip prenatal pills for everyother day? they make me sick.?

take them before bed...that is what I did because they also made me very ill.

What are some good tips for someone trying to get pregnant?

Sex. Lots and lots of sex.  Or ...My wife had fertility problems and her doctor told her to take her temperature every morning at the same time before getting out of bed. You'll have to buy a thermometer that measures to 1/10 of a degree and chart it religiously. With my wife, an increase of about half of a degree from one day to the next indicated she was ovulating if it stayed there until the end of her cycle. That's where the fun starts. We were told to get busy every other day until either the pregnancy test was positive or her period started. Apparently, the guy needs to rest his boys up in between so he isn't depleted.

Isi t safe to take a prenatal vitamin every other day? Is that gonna hurt the baby?

You should take your prenatal everyday. If you're having a problem with it, like nausea, it may help to take it before bed.... I do. The prenatal vitamin is almost more vital for you than it is for the baby. The baby is getting its nutrients from your body, sort of like a parasite (I hate saying it that way, but its true) and the baby is going to take what it needs from your body which may leave you deficient. For instance, if you're not getting adequate calcium, then the baby will leech it off your bones leaving them brittle and causing a potential for loss of bone density later in life.

If you have a vitamin that says "every day" then take it every day. Better safe than sorry. It's better for your little one.

Taking birth control every other day?

What would happen if someone only took their birth control every other day? Would it cancel out the effects of the birth control? I'm asking because my sister is doing this out of wanting a baby from her fiancee. I don't think she should have one yet - she's still in school, needs to finish her education. I'm curous what would happen if she began to do this.

I want to prepare to get pregnant?

Most important of all, take care of yourself with good nutrition, moderate exercise and a daily vitamin if you're not already taking one. Also, go to your gynecologist and get an exam to make sure that you're healthy and also you'll be able to talk to him or her about ways to keep yourself healthy and better your chances of becoming pregnant.

Good luck to you.
