What are some pretty baby girl names that are ghetto?

LaFawnduh!

Australian names: Pretty and unique or ugly and stupid?

I don't like either. I don't like Amarina because it reminds me of a girl named Marina that I knew and didn't really like.
Nandalia is pretty and I love the nick name of Lia or Leah. Good luck ~I LOVE Derek

I need an arabic unique name for a baby?

You should have a girl and name her Najma (star)!

Come on people. Mujahid (regardless of its "True" meaning) isn't a popular name. Plus, it doesn't sound nice.

Also, Yasmin isn't an Arabic name (originally).

Don't name her Jazlyn! What is she some medieval warfare instrument?

Edit:

OK, but it's not an originally Arabic word. (It's obvious from its word structure!)

A man named Najma? You sure it wasn't Najm? Or maybe something similar? If it's actually Najma, he must have had sad school years. It's a 'female word'.

Which baby names make the parents look stupid?

I'll allow that "De-nephew" is stupid. I'll allow that "Hose-Bee" is stupid. But those are plainly joke names that start from Denise and Jose.Otherwise, it seems crazy-self-centered for a person to apply their own culture and background as the only arbiter of "non-stupid names for humans".It would likely be easier for a child whose name is not profane, vulgar, or evoking the debased (eg "Filth", "Scum", etc), but it's true that adults sometimes choose such nicknames *for themselves*. For a baby, though... New parents may choose a name without being aware of its connotation in every culture (sadly, including their own). That doesn't make the parents *stupid*, perhaps "insufficiently culturally aware".As an aside, I really love the growing African-American tradition of creating a human name by imaginatively spelling a pleasant word, and I've found that names like that can be fun (yes, smiling WITH the person, not AT the person), even really fun. Having worked with dozens of individuals with these types of names, I've noticed that most of these folks are light and matter-of-fact about it, but the other two effects are more interesting for parents choosing these names... Some of these adults have fierce pride in their unique name, and in the weeks and months that follow, their name becomes like a celebrity name that precedes the individual, largely in a good way. But...a handful just seem plainly annoyed at (AGAIN?!?!) being subjected to the chore of actually spelling and pronouncing their own name for people they just met; these same folks seem to maintain their annoyance with their name as teams change and new coworkers arrive. Then again, I roll my eyes (mentally) when people ask me to spell my name.

What is in a name? Do you see this trend of giving very unique names to kids to be a problem or a benefit? Socially, emotionally, etc.?

I was given a unique name before it was even a trend. (Circa 1977) And to be very honest with you, as a child, I DESPISED it. Nobody could ever pronounce it, I could never find a toy with my name printed on it and it always caused an awkward conversation about where my name came from. Also, I was teased a lot for it by other kids. But kids can be mean, so….HOWEVER, I now love my name. It is very simply unique, I’ve been told it’s beautiful and it fits me. I couldn’t imagine my name being anything different. I have not suffered any long term, life altering problems associated with it.That being said, I really think it all depends on the name. I have seen some horrible names out there. (Shithead-pronounced Shi-Thead) It isn’t just the name sometimes, but the spelling. Especially the phonetic spellings. (Elyviya-for Olivia).Again, it really does depend on the name because there are some unique names out there that are trend starters and then, there are not.*Edit-my name rhymes with salon, but with the SH sound of course. Hence the reason I was called Salon Selectives in school, or worse…Shit on the lawn. I laugh about it now. Like I said….kids are mean.

Need help picking baby girl names!!!?

I'm not usually a fan of crazy spellings and ultra unique names, but I can definitely respect stepping outside the box and not following trends! I actually like a lot of the names on this list, but my favorites would be:

Eliza Kristine- I think this name is so pretty! I think Eliza is such a cute name that you never actually see on anyone. Such a nice shortened version of the classic Elizabeth, but with a fun twist. I also love Kristine with a K (though I'm a bit bias-that's my middle name too). I think the name flows really well also. Great combination!

Izabela Melissa- Surprisingly, I really like this name. Izabela has been on the list for most popular names for girls in the past years. She would be similar to other girls as far as names go, but this spelling still would make her unique. It's not so far out that she would look stupid. I think Melissa is a nice name that's lost popularity recently, so it's a nice "throwback" kind of name. This name also flows nicely.

Phoebe Elisabeth- This is my favorite name on this list! I've really fallen in love with the name Phoebe recently. I think it's such a cute, under-used name, that actually is really nice and sophisticated. Like I said before, Elisabeth is a nice classic name that you really can't go wrong with. I also like the spelling of the name with the s. Phoebe Elisabeth is so cute! And I think Xavier and Phoebe go really well together as a sibling set! I feel like they both have similar qualities and have the same amount of uniqueness and quirkiness to them.

I wish you all the best of luck :)

Is Irene a nice first name for girls?

Whether it is "a nice first name" is something totally subjective. Therefore the only thing I can do is give you my personal opinion: YES, it IS "a nice first name for girls". ;) Apart from that it is a typically european or "western" name. Though I can assure you it is a relatively rare name. In my lifetime (59 years) there has been only one woman who had this name! Therefore one can assume that you can be quite sure that there are NOT many girls/women who bear this name. So, if you are out for a certain originality then you've got the right name here...If you want to know more about this name and it's popularity in diverse countries continue reading here: Meaning, origin and history of the name Irene
