Problem With Router Help.

ROUTER PROBLEMS HELP?

I have bought a new DLink EBR-2310 Router. I have set the internet connection. But I have a problem. When ever both of my computers are turned on and browse the internet, my internet is REALLY SLOW and it also D/C FREQUENTLY. (When I browse a page and it doesn't load it says "you connection has been reset".) Do you know whats happening? When you use a router does it share the internet connection speed?( like if one computer takes a lot of speed to download something, does it affect the other computer that is connected to the same router?) 10Pts for the BEST ANSWER

Also is 0.81 MB/s a good download speed?
0.61 MBs Upload speed?
122 Ping speed?
Just wondering since I'm trying to get two computers connected with a router with this internet speed.

Internet router problem. help.?

Ok, so here is my problem. I live in semi detached house (If you know what I mean) with my brother and we get an internet connection from our landlord. Our landlord has a wireless router that both of us are connected to. My brother has a Mac and I have a PC, we both having excellent signals with all green bars. The problem is, my internet is like 5 times slower than my brother's. I really don't understand why. My computer is extremely recent and goes super fast (I can play video games at maximum graphics). So how can I fix this?
Please help me.

[Help] Router, AT&T, Wifi PROBLEMS?

So, I've had my xbox live since 2009. I used the same router for 3 years and got rid of it 2 weeks ago for a newer at&t router. The reason for getting rid of the router was because I noticed my internet on xbox live was slowing down. Ever since we got the new router the same problems that I had have now become WORSE. I moved my router upstairs (router sits downstairs with my desktop, xbox is upstairs) and pluged my router to my xbox, and then the other end to my laptop. I still had the same crappy internet. I'm thinking about maybe just leaving at&t as a whole as I've called and complained several times and all they say is some bs response. I might also get a new router for christmas, I need one that can support: 1 desktop computer, 1 android phone, 1 iphone, 2 itouch ipods, 1 xbox, 2 tv's for recording shows. I need the signal from the router to be strong to cover my whole house. I know the problem is now that I have too many things that suck up wifi in my house and my xbox is just not strong enough to keep up with the other devices in the house.

Can someone help me with my internet problem?

A2A,First and Foremost:Have you tried to connect another PC through the same router? Can you repeat the same behavior is the question? Most likely cause of the issue is the security software on your PC.Firewall policy would be primary suspect.Refer to my similar Post earlier:How do I fix my laptop, where no other webpages other than Google, Facebook and Youtube is loading?[SOLVED]Edited Post Comments:An ACL or a Filter added on the router could be the suspect. Since there is similar behavior on all of your client devices. The Router can be configured to restrict access to the Internet, e-mail or other network services at specific days and times.Access Control allows users to define the traffic type permitted or not-permitted to WAN port service.Parental Control by NortonBlocks unsafe and inappropriate content automatically for all the devices on your network.http://www.belkin.com/PYRAMID/Ad...What I can suggest given the limited information:Use a VPN service and check if you can connect. If you are using an Ethernet based ISP connection, remove the router and connect the ISP cable directly on your laptop and check. You could Reset the router and reconfigure it to your ISP specification.

Netgear wifi router setup problem ?

You need a direct Ethernet connection to set it up.

Download the manual if you don't have one. You'll have to do a Internet search for your specific model and include the terms "manual" or "setup" in your search.

Connect a laptop or PC to the router directly using a standard Ethernet patch cable connected to one of the router's LAN ports.

Now, open a browser on your computer that you connected to the router.

The default IP for a Netgear router is http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 depending on the router version. Type that in the browser's URL bar. You should get a login screen. If you don't get a login screen then you have a bad connection or the default IP has been changed. (Also, make sure the connected computer doesn't have static IP and default gateway settings that prevent it from connecting to the router.)

The default username is "admin" and the password is "password".

If you changed the default and don't know the login password you'll have to reset the router to factory default state. The instructions for resetting will also be in the manual.

You can reconfigure your wireless settings. Be sure to change the default login password for security.

Wireless connections require configuration to prevent anyone with a WiFi in range of your router from connecting to your network. They could do malicious deeds, such as hack into your network, or just leech off of your Internet bandwidth.

Wireless setup is not too difficult, Just follow the instructions for Netgear routers found here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/112/~/secure-your-wireless-network%3A-wpa%2Fwpa2-%28recommended%29

Once you get it setup here is the power up procedure to follow.

Follow these steps in this specific order.

1. Unplug power cables on the router and modem.

2. Plug in the modem and wait a minute or two to establish a Internet connection.

3. Plug in the router.

4. Reboot your computer to have the router DHCP service assign a new IP address to your computer.

5. If you're using a wireless connection, reconnect to the SSID of the WiFi router.

6. You can test your Internet connection speed here: http://speedtest.net

Good Luck...

Having router problem with default gateway???? help!!!!?

The D-Link routers that I've used before default to 192.168.0.1 so try that. I've read on their web site though that some are 192.168.1.1. But that doesn't help you now.

It's kind of a b**ch to have 2 routers in your house when 1 will suffice but it is do-able. Does the ZHONE have a built-in modem or is your modem separate? If so I would say to just eliminate the ZHONE and use the D-Link only.

Otherwise, to keep things as described, connect your computer to the D-Link router only and reboot both of them -- router first I guess. Then connect to it with your web browser at either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and reconfigure the LAN side with a very different network, say 10.10.1.0. You'll have to change the DHCP pool to that same network as well. Be careful as you do this because as soon as you hit "save" you'll lose your connection. At that point you want to renew your IP address to reconnect. [Ask if you're not sure how.]

Then connect the D-Link WAN port to one of the ZHONE LAN ports if you want wireless devices to be able to reach the Internet. If not then don't.

Put your PC back on the ZHONE and renew your IP address again.
