Professional Wrestling Who Deserves More Respect

So what's the attraction to Professional Wrestling?

OK, I'll admit it I don't get it. And maybe I'm setting myself up to be bodyslammed, head-butted, or kneed in the groin by asking this question, but.....

What the heck is the attraction to watching a bunch of sweaty, smelly guys in speedos rolling around on a mat with each other, while they give their opponent the occasional fake body slam, fake head-but, or fake flying superfly snooka off the ropes elbow to the face move?

Did I mention it's all fake?

Maybe this is just a case of "To each his own?"

Any answers are appreciated.

Professional Wrestlers who retired as heels?

Although he is coming back soon, when Batista originally left WWE he was a heel feuding with John Cena, and quit following a loss if I remember correctly.

Do These Wrestlers Deserve A Hall of Fame Induction?

I Agree With The Chris Benoit Royal Viper But Could He Be Inducted 10-20 Years Down The Line When The Media Is Gone & Forgotten About Chris Benoit & Only The Wrestling World Knows?Does Anyone Think That's A Possibility?

Why Do Some People Disrespect Wrestlers?

I respect all wrestlers who put their bodies on the line day in and day out. Some fans disrespect wrestlers sometimes because of their personal life or because the fan's personal opinion of a wrestler. I like your example of having us imagine if we were to spend time (300+ days) away from our family. That's tough on wrestlers to not be able to see their family much and see their children grow. These wrestlers are often supporting charities and performing in front of the military. Yet, some fans still remain to constantly bash these wrestlers. These wrestlers deserve respect as being wrestlers in the Professional Wrestling Industry, regardless their personal life.

The fans who bash wrestlers will never understand themselves, unless they live the life of a wrestler. Would they be able to take it? I doubt it. 300+ days performing with their bodies going through pain and suffering. They continue to travel around the world to make money to support their family and to entertain the masses of the fans. Many past wrestlers are currently paralyzed, still aching or dead. It seems like something some fans often forget to realize. It's a shame, really.

Again, I respect all wrestlers who perform for the fans and to make money to support themselves and their families. I don't care if a wrestler "sucks" or is the "best", they're all wrestlers who deserve respect.

Would You Consider, Ric Flair, The "God" Of Wrestling, & Shawn Michaels, The "Jesus"?

Arguably, the two best mainstream wrestlers, of all time. Would you consider Flair as the God of wrestling, and Shawn Michaels, the Jesus. Even if you do not believe in God, and what not. You know the point I am trying to get across. They are both two of the greatest performers, but should they be considered "above" anyone else?

Why is pro wrestling (WWE) so popular?

Just kidding. All jokes aside, think of pro wrestling like the travelling circus. You have the high flying acrobat, you have the brute strength, you have the eye candy. Its all about entertainment. Wrestling isn’t fake in the true sense of the word, its scripted i.e. the outcomes of the match/feud/storyline are already determined in advance, it all depends on how the performers execute these plans and make their aforementioned match/feud/storyline compelling.Another thing that makes pro wrestling so compelling is the kind of characters being portrayed. Yeah, there maybe the sterotypical roles like the foreign heel (Rusev), the weird backwoods cult (Wyatt family), undead monster (Undertaker) among others, but the way these are booked and portrayed makes them seem larger than life. And occasionally we get the story of the underdog who faced all odds and managed to make it big- Daniel Bryan’s win at Wrestlemania 30, Chris Benoit winning the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 20, Eddie Guerrero’s title win-these are not the typical huge musclebound guys that dominate the WWE roster, they are smaller in stature, insanely talented and hardworking, there was a “regular guy” kind of vibe with these chaps, something that we could associate with. That made their wins worth watching. Some of the bumps that these guys take are crazy and can cause major injuries at any given time if wrongly done (botched). Some botches can have really bad effects long term causing pro wrestlers to get seriously injured- concussions, fractures, muscle tears or even retire. Most recently during Payback Enzo Amore was injured in the match against The Vaudevillians, thankfully he is getting better soon. Seth Rollins had a horrible injury and was forced to vacate his title. Daniel Bryan had to retire due to many injuries. Likewise Edge and Stone Cold. These people put their bodies on the line in order to entertain us. They are on the road for most of the year, its not something everyone can do. So while it may all be scripted or fake, the men and women going out there and working their asses off to keep the audience happy. They deserve a lot of respect from us.
