Professor Says To Stop By Occasionally And Keep Them Informed Is Every Other Week Too Often

Is it normal for professors to refuse to write a recommendation letter until that student gets an A?

I cannot tell you about the majority of professors, but I can tell you what I've done.  I once wrote a recommendation for a student who had gotten a D in our introductory computer science course.  She had tried hard, showing up at my office hours frequently for help.  She just either didn't have the aptitude or took the course too early in her college career (freshman fall).  She had applied for a specific scholarship that was designated for a student from her home state who participated in certain types of sports.  I wrote a letter saying that, although I would not recommend that she take more CS courses, I admired how she persevered in the course when she could have easily given up.She got the scholarship.

How to tell my professor that I had a miscarriage, I still went to class?

Speak to her after class and explain your predicament.

There is no need to be embarrassed in these cases. You are only human and you could have not prevented this from happening to you.

She will understand .You do need to let her know now before anymore tests, quizes...

The fact that you perhaps are a usually good students with pretty good grades, she will definatley understand that something must be going on.

Good luck in this and sweety, I wish you all the healing in this, It's hard, it will take time. Please talk to someone about this. For some women it can get to be too much emotionally and mentally draining.

How to stop being scared of presenting in class?

I have a huge presentation in class on Monday and I m so scared!!! I have another one in a couple weeks and that one I can t even use notes!!

I m always the shy girl in class, other then when my friends are in there. But sadly, my best friends aren t in either class and I never talk. It doesn t help that in one of the classes, there s a group of girls who used to make fun of my earlier this year. I m literally shaking right now. I ve talked to my teacher 4 times, trying to see if there s anything else I can do but he says I have to do it or I m going to fail.
Please, any help and motivation would be really nice. After I talked to my teacher, I started crying in the bathroom. I'm so scared.

How do I tell my teacher I'm Depressed?

You will get suspended, but seriously, punch that ***** in the face. Let her know not to mess with you. Don't let her have control of you like that. Seriously, a black eye, and maybe a missing tooth, will put her in her place.

Oh my god! everyone hates me!? HELP?

A classroom does not constitute "Everyone." And having a low rating doesn't mean people hate you. And even if they did, who cares what they think when they obviously don't even like themselves. I want you to talk to the guidance department and tell them what the teacher has done, and how it has affected you. This needs to not ever occur again. She needs to stop this immature, slang-book mentality that can only be damaging and not beneficial to anyone. No one is ever worth taking your life over. And your poor mother and father would be left blaming themselves the rest of their lives and never be able to stop the suffering. You cannot seriously consider doing such a selfish thing as suicide is. Remember what Jesus said when He said, "Marvel not that the world hates you; it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you, but because I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hated you, therefore, marvel not." The exact Biblical chapter and verse that is found in eludes me now, but you can google it. Take care; learn to love you and the love or lack of love by others just won't matter. And, 20 years from now, none of these people will even be in your memory, and it truly won't matter. My best to you.

I am preparing for competitive exams, but for the past few days I have not been able to concentrate on studying and when I force myself I feel exhausted. When I start studying my mind wanders a lot. I'm in a 'do or die' situation as I have to clear those exams, but I am wasting my precious time. What should I do?

Thank you for this detail question description. The same things occur with every aspirants. They all do the same for fighting it off. But, what actually makes a difference is their unstoppable efforts to work onto the same.Fear, anxiety and pressure like things are very common in the struggle of clearing any competitive examination. Around millions are giving and thousands will be selected. Tough.Nothing except for going along and studying is the way to fight this.If you ask Google it has techniques like meditation and etc. If you start meditating with such kind of chaos in your mind then, you'll feel more low as you will depend upon meditation. Proper mediation gives result in and after 3–4 months of practice and till that time you don't have so much patience. Accept it. So it cannot help.As I said earlier, walking through the same. Studying is the way only.Hormones may play with you sometimes. Let it. But do remember when the game ends, you should be the winner.Don't feel low and stressful.Believe in your efforts, the results will walk to you as it is meant to be.Few things I personally practice to get rid of such things is:Yoga. Preferably, kapalbhati pranayama for 10 minutes daily. You can see the effects of the same on the internet.Weekly dopamine, serotonin and endomorphin doses. In my case I like to eat, so I prefer eating tasty and healthy food every week to keep myself happy.Build up the habit of patience. Slowly everything fades off and I'm again back on track.Discuss the issues with one close friend and with family. I said discuss, don't expect solutions. It will help. Finally, be passionate and keep reminding yourself, your 'why' for this journey. All the best!Thank you!Binoy Roy

If a teacher doesn't show up in the first 15 minutes of class, am I free to leave?

I have actually experienced this in high school, and I am telling you NOT to leave. In fact, you should report this to someone. We had an 8th period honors lit class and it was the 3rd week of school last fall. We knew ahead of time that we were going to have a sub that day. When the bell rang, nobody was there. Of course the very same rumor (the 15 minute rule) started being mentioned, but it was shut down by a few people who said that is nonsense. So, our class adjusted from the plan to leave after 15 minutes to just never calling for a teacher to come. So, for 30 minutes we socialize, while getting cover from a couple of girls (who decided to turn off the lights to make it look like we are watching a movie or something as well as make everyone shut up when someone opened the door to go to the bathroom). Of course, about 35 minutes into the 50 minute class, we got exposed when one of the students decided to email the principal that she was being trapped and pressured to be quiet and not notify anyone. The lit department supervisor came in and obliterated our class verbally, which is completely fair. Our normal teacher plus the supervisor then scolded us for another 20 minutes the following week. Luckily, in about a month, I think the incident became the past and was not really important in terms of class dynamic.Overall, I can’t tell you for college but in highschool you better not damn leave your class.
