Ps4 Headset Compatability

Turtle Beach PLa headset compatible with PS4?

I got this headset while I was using my PS3 and on the turtle beach website it says it is compatible with the ps4.. so I bought it. it works with chat, i'm confused on the audio part (to where I can hear through the speakers). This headset has the USB plug in for chat. then it has the two audio cables that i plugged into the Playstation cable they give you, which plugs into the back of the ps3. The ps4 does NOT have that port in the back. The link to the my headset is here: http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/ps3-headsets/ear-force-pla/343?gclid=CJ_N6MbSzrsCFYlAMgod9BUAPQ

It says: For full PS4™ compatibility you will need to PS4™ System Software Update 1.50 and have stereo output connection from TV or audio receiver for game audio.

I have system software update 1.52.. I just need to figure out how to get the sound through the speakers!

Thank you for any help you can offer! - Brenden

Will my PS3 headset work on my PS4?

If it utilizes a USB dongle that's plugged into the console, then it will most likely work. Otherwise, if it uses some type of wireless connectivity (namely Bluetooth), then unfortunately it will not. For a community updated list of supported headsets for the PS4, see: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/wik...-------Elaborating on my original answer based on comments from the author of the question:Yes, the Turtle Beach Ear Force PLa will work on the PS4 according to their website (Turtle Beach Corporation - Ear Force PLa):For full PS4™ compatibility you will need to PS4™ System Software Update 1.50 and have stereo output connection from TV or audio receiver for game audio. Here is a video outlining the process for hooking up these types of headphones to the PS4:

Can you use a PS4 headset on the PS3?

If it is a Bluetooth PS4 headset, yes. But if it is a wired PS4 headset, no. Since the DS3 doesn’t have any headphone jack.

Which is the best gaming headset for PS3 and PS4?

There’s not really a “best” headset for the console itself. Ive owned all the Playstation headsets and honestly every single one worked and was amazing. My last one was the Pulse (Amazon.com: Pulse Elite Edition Wireless Stereo Headset: Video Games) Got it used for $60 ob Ebay. Love it, but wanted to try Astro’s A50 because people said it was amazing and great for Rainbow 6 Seige. These are amazing. I hear footsteps before anyone. Gun shots are amazing. Everything is great……but it gives me so much problems. Cant be 3 feet out of my room without headphones turning off as in the sound which I can hear or talk to friends. Gets static’y randomly. My voice turns into a robot every few minutes (Friends tell me) so I need to turn it off and back on to fix it. Charging (not sure if this is 100%) only working when ps4 is on. And a few more reasons. Oh and battery life sucks especially when it takes forever to charge.Just choose some headphones and try them out and return if you do not like. I would say go with the Astro A40. Same thing as A50, but not wireless. Neighbor has it and loves them

What Afterglow headset can be used with both a PS4 and an Xbox One?

It depends on which Xbox One controller you’ve got - if you’ve got one of the original Xbox One controllers then you will need a special adapter to turn the special Xbox One connector into a 3.5mm headset jack. However if you have an Xbox One S controller these feature a 3.5mm headset jack on the bottom (in the same place the PS4 has the jack). There are also a few other differences between the original Xbox One controller and the S - the main difference you can see is that on the S controller the front plastic plate is all in one, going round the Xbox button and the controls where as on the original Xbox One controller the plastic front is in two halves also the newer Xbox One S controllers feel a lot more cheaply made.Old portNew port

Is there any way to make the official PS3 Bluetooth headset work on the PS4?

Some people reported good results by using a USB-Bluetooth Soundcard like the Creative BT-W2.This adapter is not a simple Bluetooth device but registers itself as a USB-soundcard when connected (technically, it doesn't rely on a bluetooth stack on the device like other USB Bluetooth adapters, but contains the whole stack in its firmware).I personally didn't try it, as I'm fine with simply connecting my wired headset to the controller. And yeah, it's a pity that Bluetooth Headsets are no longer supported on the PS4.But technically, that's because the PS4 is now using the bandwidth of the interface to manage the audio from/to the controller (which now has a speaker and a headphone jack, something the PS3 didn't have).

Is the Astro A40 gaming headset universal?

Yes it is pretty much universal headset. Here is a very good actual user's comments on this headset, talking about it usage across platforms and for even more devices like iPod and laptops etc:

Regarding its compatibility with PS4 console it is not yet confirmed and I am not too sure about this until next gen console came out nothing can be said for certain however for other devices they are good with almost most of them.
