Ps4 Trophy System Like Xbox360

Why does Nintendo not implement a trophies system like PSN or Xbox Live?

Because they don’t work with many of Nintendo’s best games, like Super Mario Odyssey or Zelda: Breath of the Wild.A trophies system or a gamer score tells you “The developers think that this is the best way to play. Do this.” In linear games like Mario Kart or even Mass Effect that’s fine. You go through the story, hitting the checkpoints, and the developers offer you targets you’re meant to complete.Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a true open world game, and Nintendo have created a sandbox. There’s an objective (kill Gannon) because people like an objective, but how you want to play is entirely up to you. Do you go straight for Gannon, playing an ultra-hard but pretty short game, do you go straight for the divine beasts for a fast challenge, do you try to track down the pieces of the story, do you go on a collectathon after all the Shrines and Korok Seeds, do you immerse yourself in the world and NPCs, or do you go exploring, or something else I haven’t listed here? Nintendo have set up a genuine open world game where the right way to play is whichever you find most fun. Were the game to have achievements then that would be the designers telling you what they consider the right way to be (the one that gives you the achievements) and the game would no longer be an open world unstructured sandbox.Super Mario Odyssey is similar. Some people just play through to the first ending, having fun, defeating Bowser, and rescuing Peach. Others find using Mario’s movement fun and like seeing where they can get - and when they reach the top of something that looks unclimbable there’s normally a pile of coins left there by Nintendo to say ‘Good job’. Others like collecting all 800 moons and then farming coins to reach the maximum 999 moons. Others like speed running and bossfights, and the bosses are almost all designed so that there’s a fast and risky way to beat them as well as the normal way. Others just drop in for minigames. Nintendo doesn’t think that any of those are wrong, and want you to have as much fun as possible in the game so they aren’t going to give the nod to one way of playing over the others.Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild, among others, would be significantly worse games with trophies that told you “This is the way to play this game even if you find another way to be more fun”. And with Nintendo producing games like that and producing the console itself they don’t sacrifice the integrity of their gameplay to add in a trophy system.

Should I get an Xbox or a PS4 for Christmas?

Honestly it depends on your personal preference. Both have excellent games. In my opinion the Xbox dominated early on in terms of exclusive games with Titanfall, Dead Rising 3, Halo, Quantum Break and Forza. However more recently there has been a dramatic drop off in terms of games released. The PS4 has now taken the crown for me with God Of War being fantastic and Horizon Zero Dawn being one of the best games i've ever played. I'm not exaggerating, it is simply incredible. No gamer should go without playing this gem.For single player story games the PS4 wins hands down. If you like the JRPG genre the PS4 is again the obvious choice. If you're a car/racing game fan you cannot beat Forza on the Xbox. I also prefer the gamerscore system on the Xbox to the trophy system on the PS4.This is such a difficult choice as both have positives. In terms of upcoming releases the PS4 is the console you should put your money on. The Xbox has struggled getting games to console (Scalebound and Fable). I lean towards the PS4 for a new buyer but you can't really go wrong either way.

What do you like better, Xbox One or PS4 Slim, and why?

It's tough choice. I have been Using ps4 lately more because of more friends, vr, and trophies but Xbox one s does alot better in terms of hardware and features. I'll list pros and cons of eachPs4 slimProsBetter gpuUpgradeable hddBetter exclusivesSmallerConsLouderNo opticalCan't change usernameXbox one sProsMore ports(hdmi in, optical)More apps(uwp)More quiet and less heatBackwards compatible with Xbox 360 and og Xbox4k outputMore comfortable controller for gaming.GamepassConsLow first party supportAA battery controllerInconsistent dashboard(constantly changing os)Cant go wrong. They both have their own strength and weaknesses. In terms of sale the gap is huge but as for features, software, and hardware, they both have come a long way and are distinct in their ways. Overall, if I had to chose 1, I have to go with ps4 because of my history with PSN and my friends. But honestly I would give the edge to Xbox for being consumer friendly and having more features even though they are a bit late. If not for the lack of quality 1st party I would like it alot more. Anyways, if you don't have a strong history with neither ps nor Xbox and you don't care about exclusives on PS4, I would say Xbox one s is great and a better buy.

Does deleting a PS4 game delete the achieved trophies for it?

No, deleting the game doesn’t impact trophies at all…it also doesn’t delete saves unless you manually go through and delete the save files…it just removes the game application when you delete the game..So, if you need space…feel free to delete a game you haven’t played in awhile and reinstall later when you decide you want to play it again .

What is the purpose of Xbox/PS4 achievement?

XBOX/PS4 achievements can serve a variety of purposes and uses to the game developers and to the gamers themselves! They provide players with anchors/ goals to achieve so that gaming has more of a waypoint in progress. Game devs want you to achieve these! Duh!They allow people to have social proof/ worth. There are many achievements that are out there, some easy some hard. Lots of times these achievements allow players to feel good since it gives them a sense of completion.Gamerscore. )This is mostly for XBOX but on PS4 you can see how many trophies someone has). It allows people to truly sum up how they compare to the population and their friends!Representation of skill. These achivents can show just how good a person is or isn’t at a particuar game or part of a game. They make people happy! Game devs purposefully make some achivements easy since it makes the players happy! Happy playerbase=Good reviews= more $$$ for the company! To keep things manageable. Lots of times achievements make things seem more manageable to do. Achievements are there because they can be achieved! This encourages players to play more and play smarter!Thats about all I can think of people! Hope my answer didn’t bore you too muh -Forrest

GTA Online Character Transfer To PS4?

I want to transfer my GTA online Character from my ps3 to my ps4 and I was wondering when I transfer it over can I still play with the same character on ps3 aswell as ps4? Also how do I actually transfer it over please? All help is really appreciated

XBox 360 vs. PS3. Right now I'm looking at both, all my friends are on XBox, but I'm also worried about the red ring of death. All the games I want are on both. Help?

The red ring of death (RROD) is attributable to hardware that has since been modified. If you were to buy an Xbox 360 today it is highly doubtful that you will experience the RROD.So now the question becomes what other functionality is important to you?Disclaimer:I do not own a PS3 and I am not a fanboy of Microsoft and I did have a Launch Xbox360 that did experience the RROD.All that said I think that even though there is a cost associated with Xbox Live, I believe that cost is well worth the money. The fact that MS has tighter control of their network ensures a better experience to the end user. Free is nice but you often get what you pay for. From what I have seen, the PS3 edges out the Xbox360 slightly regarding graphics on some games including cross platform games (ones available on both consoles). I am not a graphic 'whore' and so such differences do not weigh in for me as much as game play so for me, its a wash in this arena since game play is rarely affected by the graphical differences between versions.Additional consideration and deeper thought on the topic of cross platform Vs exclusivity should also be performed even though your question states the games you want are on both. I would bet that you could find an exclusive on either platform that could possibly sway your choice but in the end, these consoles have become so much more than a simple game console and a game franchise, while certainly important, is not the only consideration. The battle is on for an entertainment box in living rooms around the world and in my opinion, the game consoles have the leading edge. So, to answer your question, from my possibly biased POV, I would say go with the MS solution.
