Pull Cord Hard To Pull Why

Why is the starter cord in my lawn mower so hard to pull sometimes?

3 months without using could be that the piston rings are dry not enough oil on cylinder wall. next time before you try to pull the cord if is 3 months since last used pull the spark plug out and squrt a bit of oil from an oil can in the cylinder wait a minute or two then just pull the cord and see if free pulling if so put plug back in and start the motor. other thing is switch off fuel tap and run engine till fuel used up in carby before putting away. not recommended but as leaving for 3 months will have stale fuel blocking in the carby so have to avoid that.

Lawn mower cord hard to pull?

Remove the spark plug and see it it pulls easier... you may have a broken reed valve. Or the recoil mechanism may be binding or the pull rope is caught on something. Could also be that the crank is seized up/bad bearings. Some mowers have a blade release lever which if not engaged will make the engine harder to turn over. If the problem is just a tight engine which is hard to start with the pull cord, you can also remove the recoil mechanism/pull starter and use a corded or cordless drill to start the engine a lot easier. Grind off or cut off the female end of a 3/8" ratchet extension and chuck it into the drill...then use an appropriate socket to fit on the nut on the end of the crankshaft at the recoil starter mechanism. Make sure to observe which direction the engine turns when you use the pull cord or remove the recoil unit ..pull the rope a little and see which way the engine turns...and set the drill to spin in the same direction.

Twenty pull-ups used to be one of my main goals when I first started with calisthenics. It seemed almost impossible. Until after a lot of practicing and reading and listening to my body … and a lot of eating, of course … I hit my first 20. Then, with time, I started doing 20 pull-ups each set.Is it hard — yes.Is it impossible — absolutely not.It takes time and practice in order to build the strength. It takes getting used to it.It takes improving and mastering the mind-to-muscle connection. It takes dedication - the more pull-ups you do the more pull-ups you will be able to do.Sometimes it boils down to the right technique and the right approach. And oftentimes it is purely psychological.Happy Training!Miro

It took me nearly 2 months to get in my first pull up. Another 2 to get to 3. Now even without any regular practice i can manage about 10-12 in one go.It's all about regular practice. If you really want to get good at it, do it everyday. How much ever you can. Always start with your hands straight, the width can be adjusted to your preference. Personally, I keep it a little wider than shoulder-width.A pull-up is only accomplished when started from the bottom with hands completely straight, pull up to the chin going over the bar and coming back to the same starting position.

do away with the spark plug and take a glance at pulling it back. in case you have have been given the comparable project, possibility is you'll be able to have not placed the shrink back starter pull in properly, with a bit of luck it is not some thing inner.

What's wrong with my chainsaw when the cord won't pull when tyring to start.?

Try taking off the cover that goes over the pull cord assembly.Check to see that the cord is not bound or twisted or frayed. Clean the parts. When you go to replace the cover pull the cord out 3-5 inches, or just as it first starts to compress, and then secure the cover. If you tighten the cover without pulling cord out slightly, alot of times with some saws you wont be able to pull it at all. If that doesnt work, than you have bigger problems.

While Dandelion may not be the hardest plant in the world to pull up, it’s a difficult one to pull up in my garden conditions. I live in Southern California, and have heavy clay soil. We get very little rain, so we are constantly in drought, or threat of drought. The simple answer to this question is this. Dandelion has a strong, deep taproot, like a thin carrot. The top growth is rather tender. When you’ve got hard dry soil, and a sturdy taproot firmly anchored into it, pulling on the tender top growth just results in a handful of leafy greens. The strong root remains behind to sprout up more growth on top, and the root gets bigger and stronger. The above answers are correct, in that there are more difficult plants to remove, and their are good tools and strategies for removing dandelions. But, I’m giving you the reason I can’t just bend over and pluck a dandelion plant out of my lawn, on my way to the mailbox. I can do that with other plants that pop up in my grass, but not dandelions. They have a deep, strong taproot with tender, easily breakable top growth.

Lawn mower hard to pull start?

An engine that has good compression (with the spark plug in) will be hard to pull start. Newer model engines have a tab on the cam that allows the exhaust valve to remain open during the initial pull. But when it begins to fire and spins faster that tab shifts outward to allow the exhaust valve to fully close.

Since you've noticed how easy it is to pull with no spark plug in it you've discovered the difference between compression and NO compression.

You said you sprayed carb cleaner in the cylinder - why? What are you trying to clean? You won't clean much of anything that way, you'll just make pull starting even harder. However cleaning the carburetor is a good idea, but just spraying cleaner at it does nothing to help a struggling carburetor. But you said the issue is "No spark". Are you SURE it has no spark? How did you test it? If you tested it by pulling the spark plug out and laying it against the engine and pulling the cord and saw no spark, you COULD have a fouled plug. You won't see a spark. A better way to test for spark is to put a new plug on the wire and lay IT on the engine block and pull the cord. If you still don't see spark then either you have bad points (very old style and easily upgraded to the new electronic module ignition) or you have a bad ignition module.

Hope this helps.

Lawn mower pull cord rips back real fast and hard?

I think Thor is correct. At some point the previous owner hit something with the blade and it partially sheared the aluminum key that aligns the flywheel to the crank shaft, which advanced the timing. The flywheel is sometimes hard to remove and you may need a puller to do the job, but not a hard job other than that. The key shouldn't cost more than 50¢ at a lawnmower repair shop. A repair shop is proud of their labor and would probably charge more to do it for you than the mower cost you in the first place. Good Luck

Why is it so hard for guys to pull out? ridiculous?

1st. pulling out is a very bad form of birth control. and this is why.

This was a really hard question to answer in terms a woman would understand.. I had to think about how to answer this for a bit. this is the best i could do.

As a man when you are doing it, your pleasure starts building..1..2....3.....4.....5....6...7... and just as you get to the very best part the climax. Every instinct in your body takes over and wants you to push in deep. but instead you must resist that incredible instinct and do the exact opposite thing that your entire body wants you to do.. So you pull out forcing your pleasure level to drop back to a level 1 while you climax. despite the fact we have still climaxed, it is just not the same some climaxes are better than others. it is so disruptive that it makes the whole experice a 3 or 4 when it could have been a 10 for us.
