Each one of these are gifts form a man to his society. They build the people around him and support them. They make others stronger and demonstrate love, often at great personal cost.
What does noble hearted mean?
Noble means having high moral qualities (being aristocratic does not really apply to this phrase however); being noble hearted would imply high moral qualities plus a measure of compassion. We use the word heart to show that which is at the root of a person's character. This is the kind of characteristic which is demonstrated not by words but by actions. The poor mother who gives her only food to her child; the parent who foregoes his own pleasures to save for his child's education; the soldier who gives his life; the doctor who eschews money and works only to save lives--these are noble-hearted characteristics. We don't really know in our daily lives who among us is truly noble hearted. Maybe we know of a few people we know very well, because we've seen them hit bottom, and how they have been tested by life; and how they responded, choosing altruistically rather than being self-serving. Those people are few and far between. Politicians in particular talk a lot, but the very nature of the job of politics is going to draw the least noble of humans. Liking the limelight, enjoying running things; enjoying being in control; thinking one has all the answers: generally speaking, these are politicians characteristics, and they are not noble. Frankly, just because someone wants to be in charge does not make them the best leader. In fact, the opposite is probably true.

They were certainly noble in the end, when Rick (despite his love for Ilsa) gave the papers to Laszlo and Ilsa to get out of Casablanca, and to save their lives. He tried to make things right between Laszlo and Ilsa too. That was noble for sure. Rick was also very noble when he saved the young girl from the onslaughts of Captain Renault. Her husband was gambling away their money, and she was willing to sell herself to Renault to gain their freedom. Rick made sure her husband won enough money to get out of Casablanca, saving the man's wife from having to do "whatever" with Renault. Laszlo - hmmmm. Nobility, huh? I mean clearly he was a man of sacrifice, fighting for the French resistance. He risked his life for the people to fight against the Nazis. As far as a specific act of nobility, it is hard for me to think of. He came into the picture having escaped from a concentration camp I believe. He fights to get the papers. He leaves with his wife whom he loves dearly. The only thing I could say that was noble was that I think he knew that Rick and Ilsa were in love. I think it was rather noble that he accepted Rick's story, and left with his wife graciously instead of starting a fight. Good luck on your homework!
