Quesion About My Health In Weight

Can weight loss be bad for your health?

Twice in my life while dieting from obesity down to a healthy weight, I noticed that I would get sick all the time. Can losing weight too quickly harm my immune system or something?

Is weight lifting bad for your health?

Your bench is good. I'm at 350 as well and I'm at 172lbs. I don't lift that heavy very often. I stay in a range that's hard but comfortable. I use a spotter if I need to.
Weight training is not bad for the heath unless you're lifting to often. You can over train and possibly injure a muscle or tendon. That may be what they're referring to. the roids are where the danger is. Everything is built up including the main muscle, the heart. That's the only reason I stay away from them.
Keep it natural and build with proper diet and rest.
you'll be ok.

I am 5'3.5 and 108lbs.. is this a healthy weight?

According to the Body Mass Index (BMI), you are still in the healthy weight range with a BMI of 18.8. You are at the lower end but still within the normal weight range. So you could even afford to gain a few pounds if you wanted to...lol

Weight Watchers Questions?

History

Weight Watchers, one of the most celebrated weight-loss plans of all time, had its humble beginnings in the apartment of an overweight New York City housewife in the early 1960s.

Jean Nidetch, then more than 200 pounds, brought together some overweight friends to discuss how they could all lose weight. Soon the women were meeting every week, confiding in each other about their common desire to overcome their food longings. In this supportive atmosphere, each woman was successful in losing weight.

Word spread quickly and Weight Watchers was incorporated in 1963. Today, an estimated one million people continue the tradition worldwide.

Philosophy

There are different ways to make Weight Watchers work for you: Weight Watchers Meetings provide coaching and real-life insights to help you make the positive changes needed to lose weight. They give you the support and guidance to help you reach your goal and stay there. In the words of Nidetch, "empathy, rapport and mutual understanding" are the energies that make the plan work.

Now with Weight Watchers Online, you can also follow the plan step-by-step online with interactive tools, tips, recipes and more.

The Diet

Weight Watchers introduced TurnAround, with two food plans to make it even easier to fit weight loss into your life: the flexible POINTS® plan and a No Counting plan. You choose the weight-loss approach that fits your life best.

On the Flex Plan, you can enjoy the full range of food options, while making better choices with the POINTS system. Each food has a POINTS value based on a special formula. You can eat any food as long as you stay within your POINTS budget. Since nutritious foods are low in POINTS values, you can easily handle any food challenge, even when choices are limited.

The Core Plan works by focusing your eating on a list of wholesome, nutritious foods without counting or tracking. Enjoy satisfying foods from all the food groups without empty calories, and have the occasional treat in controlled amounts.

Weight Watchers helps you build the skills to enjoy a healthy, balanced life by showing you how to boost your activity level, become aware of how your habits affect your weight and learn how to set achievable, step-by-step goals to build on your weight-loss success.

What is the health risk of weight training in the long run?

There are many positive effects weight training can have on your health but there are ways it can be detrimental. If you are weight training with poor form you are risking serious problems. You can do damage to your joints, tear muscles, and cause back problems which can last forever. Heavy overload puts serious stress on tendons and joints especially when performed often and without proper warm up and technique.Being smart about weight training can give you lasting benefits that you can have for a lifetime. I can’t stress enough the importance of proper form over the amount of weight used. Your back especially will thank you when you get older!

Birth Control And Weight Question...?

I am going to start birth control for the first time in 10 years. I'm mainly doing it to regulate my body because I skip many months in a row at times and also to see if it helps stabalize or help my mood swings. My concerns for my health are there as well. I've also heard that women can gain weight and some loose weight. I could use some positive encouraging stories if you don't mind sharing? Anyone loose weight on birth control? Anyone notice an increase in happiness or feeling of contentness?

I can't stop worrying about my health and my weight (I have an ulcer and a touch of an eating disorder). How do I change my mentality?

See an endocrinologist and gastroenterologist to get a medical evaluation of your ulcer and eating disorder. When you consult them, ask them frankly if your worries are reasonable, if you genuinely have a bona fide eating disorder, and, if so, would a psychiatrist evaluation be helpful?
