Question About A Credit Restoration High School

What happens if I don't have enough high school credits to graduate?

Well you can take summer school, or repeat by just taking the classes you need

Just talk to your councilor, he or she will tell you what you need to graduate, and tell you how you can get these classes in.

EDIT:
hahahah we call them super seniors too... its not a good thing

What to do for my son not graduating high school this year?

My son was transferred to a charter school the middle of his senior year to catch up on his courses that he was behind with so he could graduate on time. He had missed too many days and needed to make up past courses that he passed but had no credit for. Now we know he won't be able to make these up in time and will not get the rest of his courses done in time to graduate this May. He has become extremely upset with one of the teachers at the school and says he wants to quit and do online school at home. He has 3 1/2 credits left to graduate. We don't mind him getting his diploma a little later but he does. He is very unhappy with school period. I'm at my wit's end! He works and seems really happy with that! If anyone has any suggestions on an online diploma program for him to finish up these last classes, I would appreciate it. He hasn't come this far to just quit and get a GED. In the future, he is thinking about going to technical college. Regular college isn't for him! Thanks!

I'm missing high school credits! HELP!?

Homeschooling wouldn't help you --- you wouldn't even be able to homeschool if you're already enrolled in another school.

There is no "fast" way to get them.
You can take online classes, but they're not easy or anything. It's very hard to be responsible and self-motivated.

You need to talk to your counselor -- they'll be able to advise you better than we can.
Summer school, extra courses during the school year, and maybe some online courses will probably be your best bet.

How can i recover high school credits?

Do high school teachers ever fix grades for preferred students?

Only once in my 40-year career did I fix a grade for a preferred student. I was a first-year teacher. The student suffered from hydrocephalus and was emotionally unstable. She came to class every day and behaved in such a way that she was a disruption to the education of the other students but not so serious that she could have been removed from class. The other students ridiculed her. She turned in all of her assignments, but she failed them. She failed all of the tests.I asked the vice principal why they didn’t take her out of the public school and give her special help. He said the student tested slightly above what the state required for special education at that time. The parents were angry, and decided that they would keep her in high school until she graduated.I had to give her grades. Frustrated, I gave her an F on her grade card for each 9 weeks, an F on her semester test, an F on her final test and a D- for the course. Several other, more experienced teachers, did the same thing. That wouldn’t happen today, of course, because public schools in the United States now have many more resources to help disadvantaged students while keeping them in regular classes to encourage natural socialization.

What will happen if I fail one semester of high school, but get straight A's in second semester? Will that cover my first semester?

Yes, that will usually they will just combine your 1st and 2nd semester grade to determine if you get the credit or not. However, gettin an A won’t necessarily get you the credit because it all depends on the grade you got during the first semester for example, you could have gotten a 40 in a class during the first semester, but the second semester you got a 90 the average would be a 65 and with that average you will fail the course. So, it all depends on what’s your grade from the first semester so keep that in mind.

How do i fix my credit? i just got my credit score and it was 501?

honestly, there's just way too much stuff to list. You can repair your credit yourself.

Start by getting your 3 credit reports from annualcreditreport.com

Look them over, if you see any errors or irregularities, dispute the accounts with the credit bureaus. If an account's date last reported is over 2 years old, i would not advise you paying them unless they reactivated the account. Pay off all debt active within the last 6 months. Get a secured credit card to build credit, pay it on time and keep the balance to limit ratio at 20% or less.

As you go through this process and run into stumbling blocks, come back here and we'll be glad to answer any other questions which you have.

Just remember to get your credit reports first.

YAHOO!!!!!

Missing almost a credit for graduation.?

Im entering my senior year with a 16.75 credits when i should have 17.50 credits so im only missing .75 credit. I go to IEP and i was wondering if the counselor will boost me up to what i need if i ask him. I had a rough junior yr getting my first F with family problems a family member passing which was close to me. Depression as well with my parents fighting over financial issues and so forth. Im sure im not the only person in school going through these problems its just been hard for me to handle. Do you think the counselor will let me slide and does he have to power to get me the credit i messed up on. Sorry for my grammar im guess too depressed on really fixing anything elae besides that. IEP by the way is a special resource room were kids like me who they consider have a minor dissability in learning. Ik it sounds like im crying a sob story but its really the truth here.

Can hackers change credit scores?

Very, very, very, very unlikely. The credit agencies are generally run by financial institutions. They take security very seriously.A hacker would have to be able to access their systems, make a modification and then delete all evidence that the modification has been made. Possible, but not easy - it could easily be months of work looking for a security flaw, and they would still need a way of ensuring the change was saved. Most hackers are low level ‘script kiddies’, and this is completely out of their league. An insider in the agency or one of their data feed partners would have a far easier time. Assuming they had system access and the rights to make changes, they could add false information such as a fake loan with regular repayments, or wiping old missed payment information. It’s unlikely they could get around the logging systems, so it’s going to be picked up sooner or later if they do it more than once, so not something you could do ‘for hire’. They would then be fired and face possible criminal charges, as it would be clear who they were. And that’s just for one of the credit agencies - you now have to replicate the work on the other two. Which means multiple insiders or one extremely skilled hacker and a lot of luck finding an exploitable security hole. It’s nearly impossible. And if there was someone who was able to do it, there would have to be a very good reason for them to risk a decade or more in prison for something that’s likely to be noticed and reverse fairly quickly. You know what a far easier way of ‘fixing’ your credit score is? Paying back all your loans on time, and not relying heavily on credit.

I'm failing all of my high school classes that aren't STEM. How can I help fix this shortcoming of mine?

I have developed a low effort technique to maintain reasonably good grades with little effort:Sit front row and pay attention. As my desire for social interaction is small during school it’s not a problem for me but if you’re chatty you should sit next to quiet people.Ask question and answer if you know the answer. It will make the teacher wanting to help you. But focus bringing good content when you talk, don’t just repeat what the teacher said (unless he’s one of those that wants exactly that).Reflect your old tests. I got a lot better grades in subjects after reviewing old tests. Teachers write all tests similar and if you know the teacher and his tests you’ll know what is more or less important to study. Some teachers don’t make it hard to figure out what things will make up the majority of the test.Figure out how you learn the most efficient. I as example never write summaries even tho it is a common thing. I like to learn while watching videos on the internet or just reading the books. If I have questions I google them. But each student should know how he likes to study and how he can keep his motivation up.Customize your strategy for each teacher. Each teacher has his own tests, so prepare smart. Does he bring more context from the book or from what he said during the lesson? How much is understanding and how much is learning by heart? What things did he teach in detail?Try to explain things to other people. That is honestly the best way to understand things. In subjects where understanding is more important by heart learning as a group is the most efficient. If you don’t understand something your friends that know how you think can explain it the best. If you explain something you have to structure your thoughts so the other person can understand which will make you understand it even better.Learn smarter not harder!
