Question About American Football

Why are soccer fans so insecure that they keep on asking dumb questions regarding American football?

Haha...good question. They're just amazed that Americans don't go crazy over soccer so they try to make fun of American football...however, American football is simply a much, much more exciting game. I'm not a soccer hater, it's alright, but not nearly as exciting as football.

How often do rugby players have head injuries compared to american football players?

well ive seen some pretty bad injuries in rugby some1 is out on their feet probly at least 1ce every couple of games where i play rugby. scrums dont always go as planned bt as a front row i tend to get more neck soreness bt alot of props that dont engage right go right into som1s head or shoulder. also if ur an unexpierenced scrumhalf of flyhalf or 8 u probly will b knocked out by ur opposite if their really good. also with no helmet u tend 2 get more wear and tear injuries, like last night i went head 1st into the ground in order 2 score so my face is bruised and sore n scratched this morning. i ve also been kicked my metal studs in the face or stomped in the bak of the head, um 1ce a teammate like jumped over me wen i was gettin up n i got his boot next to my eye big scratch. bt ya dependin on ur position u will hav more or less injuries im sure its da same in football

Question about (American)Football.......?

hey guys, i was just wondering......

is it true that (American)Football is for gay people?

the way they cover themselves with shoulder pads, helmets and flamboyant leggings that suggest it is a gay sport.

and should'nt it be called HandEgg instead of FootBall?
or at least EggBall?
or maybe GayBoyBall?

Try out these new names. i think it will catch on.

if you wanna see a real sport played by real men, watch Rugby.

Thank you.

Questions about being a Kicker in American Football...?

I highly encourage you to become the kicker for your high school football team next season.

My best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this month (and every offseason) is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of becoming a successful, top notch kicker in high school football, who could go on to play college football in the future.

By the way, here are 7 tips/techniques you should use:

1. Have the ball held with the laces pointed away from you. It should be straight up and not leaning a little the other way of the side you are on, or as you progress with your kicking you will learn which way to have the ball leaning (if any lean at all).

2. Take 2-6 steps backwards (whatever feels comfortable) and 2 steps to the opposite side from your kicking foot (left if you are a rightie, and right if you are a leftie).

3. Look at the uprights (goal posts) and imagine the ball sailing through. Then give the holder a signal that you are ready and think about how you should be kicking the ball. Don't think about the score/if you need to make this to win the game... always think of your structure.

4. Your first actual step should be with your kicking foot, turning it just a little bit. This is called "prelock"ing your foot.

5. Your last step before you kick the ball will be your plant step. If you are kicking off-the-ground (college or pro players), your ankle should be in front of the ball to give the ball the height you need. High school players using a 2" tee should have their toes in front of the TEE to also give you the height you need. high school players using a 1" tee should have the arch of their foot in the middle of the tee to give you the height you need.

6. Keep your head down so you don't side of the ball.

7. Follow through. Flexibility is key with your follow through; the higher you follow through, the higher your ball will go.

American Football(NFL) vs Rugby?

Ok, there has been a lot of talk that American Football is for *******. I ask the question, Who would you bet your money on. Who do you think would win. Who hits harder, a Proffesional American Linebacker without padding, or an rugby guy without padding. I understand rugby is more rougher without cups, and padding. Americans play football with neighborhood friends all the time which could be rugby. So let me have your opinions. To me, there is no competition. AMERICAN FOOTBALL ALL DAY!!! LOL thanks

What is your opinion on American football?

As a part of my 420 followers question session, I have no opinion on American football. But honestly I prefer traditional football.I am really certain that hundreds of answerers said the same as me.But I would say such football is good for whoever is playing it. I am not the one to judge.

Rugby or American Football?

Rugby, American football is for girls: all that padding and stuff! ;-)

Real men play Rugby

What came first american football or rugby?

yer thats right they did form american football from rugby
we should ask this question on the american football section and see wat they think

What are some good questions to ask a NFL football player?

1. What are some of the hardest lessons you've learned as an NFL player?
2. Which players have you learned the most from?
3. Which players make you laugh out loud?
4. If you were to build your dream NFL team, including retired players, who would you pick and why?
5. What are some of the unexpected and pleasant surprises you've had as a pro athlete?

I think I'm a bit of jealous that you get to ask these questions! Good luck!

Which American football teams are up for sale?

None, as Phil said. Though the Cleveland Browns would be the most likely team to go up for sale soon if their owner Jim Haslman is indicted (and potentially convicted) for fraud. But even then it's not a sure deal, nothing stops an owner from keeping their team if they are convicted, the only thing that could force them to sell would if advertisers pulled their support. This excludes the Bills being for sale after their owner passed away recently, but that is a slightly different case than the Browns. Another team that recently changed hands was the Jacksonville Jaguars who were bought in 2012.
