Question about bank overdraft fee......?

Call the bank on the phone. Explain that the Disney Movie Club was not an authorized transaction and it has caused this mess. If you've never overdrafted before, they should clean up the fees. If they don't, tell them that is okay and there are a lot of other banks for you to choose. Then change banks.

Question about TD Bank Overdraft fee?

Hello! I'm going to try to make this short, but I need help with this before I contact TD Bank. So, starting on Wednesday (Aug 17th) I literally had 1 cent in my TD bank checking account. Then, later on that day Planet Fitness charged me $10 for my gym membership (that I forgot about) and that put my bank account at -9.99 dollars. Thennn on Thursday (Aug 18th) my sister snuck my bank card and went online and bought a $29.90 laptop case using PayPal. Later that day, paypall took the money out of my bank account AND TD Bank charged me an overdraft fee of $35.00 that SAME day then that put my bank account at -75.98. Then today, I received a direct deposit of $157.79 from my job at 4:00a.m. But of course, since my account was at -75.98, only $81.81 was left. Then at 1:00p.m. today, I check my account and TD bank charged me ANOTHER $35 overdraft fee AFTER my account was already in the positives. Can they do this? Thank you!

Bank of america overdraft fee question?

You have an overdraft. That is why you card still worked even though you didn't have enough money to cover it. The purpose of this is to avoid checks bouncing. If you don't use any checks then pay up the negative balance and go cancel your overdraft. You are allowed to do this. This way your card will be denied when you do not have the funds. If you write checks then they will bounce and it could end up hurting your credit.

Best way to handle this is to open two accounts. One with no overdraft, for debit card purchases (cancel overdraft). Then open another with overdraft for checks (keep overdraft). Some will tell you bounced checks don't hurt your credit. Not true. Because anyone you write a check to that reports to a credit agency or if you close your accounts (without overdraft and bounced checks) that will also get reported to the credit bureau.

So heed my advice any questions just email.

Bank overdraft DDA charge off question?

So, I found out today that I had a $300 overdraft fee that had been there for 30 days, and was chargedoff and my account was inactive on the 15th. I was explained this when I went to deposit a check at my bank. The banker said she could take the checks, but that I wouldn't get the money back. My student refund from financial aid was just processed to that account and I'm worried that the $1,000 I'm getting from that I won't get back. I couldn't stop the school from depositing to that account. If a $1,000 deposit is made to my account after the chargeoff, what happens to it? Do I ever get that money back?

Overdraft fee and Bank of America check card question

I had a joint account with bank of america but I closed it and opened up my own account. When I closed my old account, I had $0.76 so I just transfered that into my new account yesterday. This morning, I deposited my check into my new account because my direct deposit hasnt been set up yet. After depositing my check into my account, I tried to buy my new phone offline but it says that my card isnt going through.

I checked my account and it says that I still only have $0.76 in my account. I was wondering if thats the reason why my card isnt working..but then again, shouldnt my account have overdrafted instead of being declined? I do not plan on overdrafting and my deposit was definately enough to pay for the phone..I was just wondering
