Question About Electricity

Physics Question on Electricity?

1) "Across the mains" is the same as "in parallel"

2) Look at 1)

You don't make sense: rewrite 1).

The answer for 2) is 120W

Homework question on electricity?

I have a science test tomorrow and my teacher gave review questions. I answered them all without a problem except for this one:

Some of the characteristics of four electrical appliances are given below:

Appliance 1 = 200V, 10A
Appliance 2 = 240V, 6A
Appliance 3 =120V, 1500W
Appliance 4 = 240V, 1.8kW

If each appliance is used for the same amount of time, which appliance consumes the most electric energy?

My question is, how do I calculate appliances 3 and 4. I know how with appliances 1 and 2. For appliance 1, I got 2000 and for 2 I got 1440. I used the formula E=VxIxt

What formula do I have to use for appliances 3 and 4?

Math question for electricity usage?

The general formula is
u(t) = Asin(Bt + C) + D

at t = 6, u(t) = 30,000, sin(Bt + C) = -1 (lowest value)
30,000 = A(-1) + D, eq#1
6B + C = arcsin(-1) = 3pi/2, eq#2

at t = 18, u(t) = 60,000, sin(Bt + C) = 1 (highest value)
60,000 = A(1) + D, eq#3
18B + C = arcsin(1) = pi/2, eq#4

eq#3 + eq#1
90,000 = 2D
D = 45,000

eq#3 - eq#1
30,000 = 2A
A = 15,000

eq#2 - eq#4
-12B = pi
B = -pi/12

3*eq#2 - eq#4
2C = 4pi
C = 2pi

The formula is
u(t) = 15,000sin((-pi/12)t + 2pi) + 45,000

Covalent and ionic question about electricity????

NaCl dissociates to Na^+ and Cl^- ions in water when NaCl dissolves. Many ionic compounds do the same thing. The ions are charged and allow the solution to carry an electric current. Water does not have enough charged species to carry an electric current by itself. Sucrose is a covalent compound, so its bonds do not dissociate when sucrose dissolves, and no ions are produced. No ions means no charge carriers in the solution, and virtually no electrical conductivity.

Static Electricity Physics Question?

Simple. Bring it near the conductor without ofcourse touching it. The conductor will be charged -ve so lonas the +ve charge remains.

How do I solve these current and electricity questions?

I think there are some redundent resistances having same value of potential at both ends.Such as the in 1st case the first inclined resistance starting from left is redundemt this way by eliminating you can solve.

Question about electricity and magnetism? I have tried this question over 20 times and I still keep getting the wrong answer??

A solenoid of length 55cm has 360 turns of radius 3cm. An outer coil with 8 turns of radius 5.6cm is placed around the solenoid. The axes of the coil and solenoid coincide. Find the emf induced in the coil if the current in the solenoid varies according to I=3.2sin(30πt)A.

???cos(30πt)mV

Static Electricity question. Help please.?

Q = F/E = 1.19 E-3/38.2 = 3.12 E-5 C
