Question About Human History

What are the best one-line questions asked in human history?

"If good things lasted forever, would we appreciate how precious they are?"- Calvin and HobbesWe  often start taking things for granted without being grateful for the  things we have! We never realize how much people/things matter to us and  affect us until they are gone/it is gone! It is our duty to learn from  these things, be satisfied, be grateful and look at the bigger picture.  Is is never too late! :) Life has provided you with all these wonderful  opportunities, memories and experiences! Make sure you realize its  value! :)credits:Utkarsh Srivastava's answer to What is the best one liner on life or philosophy that you have ever heard?

Which has been the most important question in human history; why or what?

That would be, “how can I be happy?”That question has intrigued humanity since we came down from the trees. Many people widely spaced temporarily and geographically have found the answer. The common human goal is happiness. Many search for it by striving to attain wealth, fame or power. These are false goals – they do not guarantee success.Meditation is the rational approach to reaching that goal independently of any external objective. It is based on an understanding of the mechanism of peace-of–mind [conventionally called happiness] in creatures with our sort of central nervous system.Meditation does not evoke some esoteric, supernatural transcendence; it gives us access to something we humans have lost contact with as we have grown older and have become more embroiled in the complexity of responses ordinary every-day life rightly demands. All conscious mental activity is just the tool we use to solve our problems.Once a problem is solved, we should ideally lay that tool aside – no matter how temporarily. But we invariably don’t and that means we are never truly happy. If you want to see my attempt at explaining why meditation works, look up “21st Century Zen” on my website: Introduction

What is the most important question in the human race?

This is the question Are humans designed to survive in the long run ? How does it play out in the end ? Is human life sustainable or are humans destined to destroy ourselves in the long run along with the planet ? Pretty ironic that we consider ourselves "intelligent" and "superior" beings despite our collective penchant for self inflicted destruction. For instance human overpopulation is a growing problem.  It is the driving force behind war, natural resource depletion, environmental pollution, global warming,  strife, inequality, greed and cultural conflict.  Ever more people competing for a smaller set finite real items.Human overpopulation is the existential problem at the root of most other crises. The world is a finite place the last time I checked, so unchecked unbounded population growth of any species including humans is a always a fatal problem. Ever see bacteria exponentially grow and then choke to death on its own waste in a petri dish when the food is gone ?  The bacteria starts small, growing rapidly at an ever increasing rate consuming all available resources.  Then suddenly the growth stops as the resources are exhausted and the bacteria dies rapidly. This could be the fate of humans on the planet earth if like the bacteria we grow endlessly.   Well the petri dish is the Earth and the bacteria are the humans.

What are the greatest questions for humanity?

Although subjective, philosophers and futurists, spiritual leaders and scientists, sociologists and psychologists  seem to orbit around questions involving human supremacy, purpose, and goodness. These questions are often phrased as:Does life have any inherent purpose? Or is mankind left to make its own purpose out of a purposeless universe? What is mankind's essential illness? Why can't we be good?Is our relationship to the animal kingdom/natural world one of equivalency or supremacy? What should we use as a guide to determine the 'right' way to live? Why is there something instead of nothing?

AP world history question interpretation?

That's a genuinely sh*tty question right there. At first glance I would say that it's asking you to defend the idea that the human factor (Social custom, world view, etc.) is the primary cause for major historical events. But that doesn't quite explain the use of the phrase "How do historians communicate..."

If I were you I'd write, in response, an essay regarding the differentiation between verbosity and intelligence as well as the importance of pith.

Ed. The premise actually isn't correct anyway, to presume that one factor is of supreme importance while everything else takes a secondary role is folly. Human agency isn't constant, it changes across time and space, altered by technological and environmental determinism. The thesis presented in the question creates a chicken and the egg scenario wherein any human decision or action may be taken as human agency regardless of how it was influenced by any other factor.

What are some of the biggest unanswered questions of humanity?

How has the universe come into existence?Who or what caused the existence of the universe? Will the universe cease to exist? How?Is the universe infinite? What’s inside a black hole? Why do we exist? Why is there life?Is there alien life?Is there intelligent alien life? Are we at the end of Earth’s evolution, or are we merely in the middle? How many dimensions are there? How do these dimensions work? What does time look like? Can we have more time? Can we prevent death? Can we return from death? Can we create life? How does the human brain work? How can we recreate a digital human brain? Will Artificial Intelligence cause a utopia or dystopia? Is something like a utopia even possible? Is there an ideal political system? Will wars ever cease to exist? Is equality possible? Is equality truly best for humanity? Will technology ever stop to progress?Lastly, will you upvote this answer?
