Question About Laptop Monitor Driver Board

I can't reduce my laptop's screen brightness. The buttons just aren't working. How can I solve this problem?

I had the same problem…and i solved it… :)just follow the below steps and it is applicable for all windows(win 7,8,8.1,10)goto search window and search for “device manager”2. open device manager3. right click on intel(R) HD Graphics 55004. A window will appear as shown below and click on “Let me pick from a list pf device drivers on my computer”5. opt for intel(R) HD graphics and give next, then close all windows and give restart.6. if u don’t have two option, don’t worry go for “microsoft basic display adapter” and give next, then close all windows and give restart. Now you may not be able to increase or decrease brightness!! don’t worry!!7. then repeat from step 1 and now you will get two option like in step 5 and now you do step 5, close all windows and restart the computer.-Poorna :)

What would happen if I uninstall the graphic card driver from my laptop?

Your laptop would function similarly apart from ofcourse gamingUninstalling the geforce driver would revert windows to its original basic drivers that it has for nvidia gpu's You might notice a substantial bump in battery life because the geforce driver is fairly heavy and requires some resources of your cpu to run The basic windows driver is pretty similar but is a ripped off to basic functions version of the nvidia driver So yeah, you may notice a slight difference in performance perhaps substantial but certainly not a huge differenceIf want to switch to your onboard chipset then simply go to device manager>display adapters and then disable your current gpu

Driver install order for Toshiba laptop?

I need to know the correct install order for these drivers i've downloaded. I recently re-installed Windows 7 on my Toshiba Satellite Pro, so pretty much every driver needs to be put on it.

Will replacing a computers motherboard wipe clean the hard drive?

All your information like pictures, video, documents, programs and your operating system is all on the hard drive which is completely seperate from the motherboard. When running, they're all connected of course but when replacing the motherboard, they are simply disconnected and a new motherboard is put in. When you turn on your computer with a new motherboard it will be like nothing was ever changed.

What is the problem with my laptop computer if the display is partial?

Is what you are seeing on your laptop’s screen something like one of these? If so, then your LCD Panel has damaged and will need to be replaced. This type of damage is most often caused by something being dropped on the laptop or the laptop being dropped. Is it more like this?If so, that is an indication that the LCD Driver board or display cable is malfunctioning and will need to be replaced. This type of damage is caused by time, electrical circuit failure, and overheating. Is the laptop’s display more like one of these? This type of damage indicates that both the LCD Panel and its driver board and/or display cable are damaged and all of these components will need to be replaced. This is almost always caused by a laptop falling, being thrown, having something hard & heavy thrown at it, or otherwise being subjected to high impact damage. Oftentimes, this type of damage also requires replacement of the hinges int he laptop and sometimes the entire case. Needless to say, this is the most expensive type of damage to repair.

There is a very thin vertical line across my laptop screen, how do I fix it?

if the device is under warrantee have somebody else fix it.or from a DiY try here are the likely failures. the vertical lines indicate a hardware failure. the usual suspects are:data cable between the motherboard and the screen. this cable gets worn from rubbing against the case as the hinge opens and closes. or the cable just wears if the angle it bends is too tight.the driver board behind the screen. although less likely the problem. when screens became lit using LED instead of fluorescent I saw less failures here. older notebooks have this problem more often.the GPU is unsoldering itself. oops. this is a replace the mother board fix.bad connector. almost never but you never know. check the pins for floaties.

Dell monitor problem, amber light but black screen, does anyone have a solution to get this monitor running?

Amber light is the stand-by light, meaning monitor is on and plugged in, but not receiving a signal. Make sure it's connected properly to the computer, and make sure the computer is turned on.

If the display is receiving a signal properly, that amber light will turn green.

Green lines are appearing on a laptop screen. What is the problem? How can I resolve it?

The image which we see on our screen is a result of many tiny pixels that creates a perfect blend of colors to generate it. Every single pixel in the display is made of three subpixels which are red, green, and blue. Small transistors inside the screen electronically trigger the correct color which collectively displays a picture. When these pixels stuck on a particular tone, then it will appear as a single dot on the screen whereas if the number of stuck pixels is high then, it will surface like a green line on a laptop screen. Now, before deciding to replace your laptop screen you can try some methods which can help you in resolving this issue on your own.· Ensure the source of a problemTwo components can be responsible for green lines which are LCD screen and the graphics card. Each part has a different process of repair. To find the source, first, try a different monitor to check whether the lines appear on a new display. If they do, then the graphics card has malfunctioned. Second, examine display settings and alter them if they are not ideally set. If both the things are not at fault then probably the issue is with a display.· Pixel pressure methodStuck pixels can get back to normal operation by applying gentle pressure. Here you can use a piece of tape to highlight the area where a green line on laptop screen has appeared. Now with a soft cloth, you have to employ moderate pressure to the stuck pixel line after turning the system off. Make sure that you don't press it hard otherwise the problem will get worse. It will tenderly flex the screen material which will make the pixels to shift from permanent “on” position hence resolving the issue.· Update the driversOutdated drivers can also lead you to a green line on a laptop screen. Here you have to check the driver versions for graphics card and LCD. If there are updates available, then download it and keep your OS updated as well.· Color cyclingQuick cycling of the colors can fix stuck pixels. It helps in removing "kinks” out of the subpixels which brings them back to normal condition. You can do this with the help of programs which are available online as free downloads such as Jscreen Fix, Undead Pixel etc. The process can take up to 20 minutes to an hour, but it will fix the issue. In case if the problem persists, then it will be wise to contact a repair service provider as an expert can lead you in the right direction if you can't find a solution.

My laptop won't power down properly. DV6700 Hp?

I had a motherboard crash about 5 months ago. I ordered a used one and have installed it.

The original problem with the laptop. It would power on and then die within seconds. It would repeat this until I unplugged it and took out the battery. This problem was fixed with the new board.
the Laptop now works great and boots great. The two issues I have is that the battery wont charge and it won't power down properly. When I try to power it down in windows, it shows the turn off screen then gets stuck. The laptop used to "click" right before all the lights turned off. It no longer does this. The power light and hard drive lights never turn off. It also does this same thing when I try to do a restart.
The only way to turn it completely off is to press the power button for 4 or 5 seconds then it finally turns off and the lights go out.
I have flashed the bios on the new board, I did a factory reboot on the hard drive and system. Updated all of the drivers and tested every thing else I could think of. The battery not charging issue I believe could be a bad battery because the machine didn't work for 5 months, but this other issue I am clueless about. My only thought is there is something wrong with the new board, but I am not sure what. Please advise, thank you.
I am running vista 32bit
