Question About Outdoor Concerts Heat Convincing My Parents Etc

Lying to my parents about going to a concert?

My parents allowed me to sleepover at my friend's house, and they think that we're not going to go out. This isn't true, because as soon as I get there we're going to a concert that my other friend's band is playing. It's all ages, no drinking, drugs anything, and her dad is going to be with us to make sure we're alright. My parents are being unreasonable and not letting me go to the concert because they don't like my friend and they don't think I'm old enough to go to concerts or something (I'm 14.) My friend's dad agreed to not mention the concert to my parents. If they call me while I'm there, I'll go to the bathroom where it's quiet. Did I miss anything that might let them catch on or find out? Please don't answer with saying this is a bad decision and I shouldn't be lying to them, because I'm not stupid, just restricted. We're not going to do anything bad, just have a good time. So, did I miss anything...

My parents won't let me competitive dance?

Dancing is my life , it's all I do and all I want to do . I couldn't imagine a life without dance . Whenever I'm sad or having trouble at school , friends , even family , etc . I dance because it's the only thing that makes me feel happy . I've been dancing since I turned 5. I've dreamt of competing at competitions but I've never tried out and I was usually really shy . And I also felt like I wasn't good enough . However over the summer I decided to try out for the competition team at my new studio , I didn't know how the audition would turn out . Last week I got an email saying I made the team I was really excited ! But this week my parents told me I can't compete :-( it's like they don't understand how hard I've worked to get to this point and now I can't even do it . I'm in tears right now . I LOVEEE to dance and I want to open up a studio when I'm older . My parents say competitive dance is too expensive and that I'm stupid to even think they would pay that much money :-( I'm really heartbroken . I don't know what to do . I don't even want to live anymore . I feel like my life is over :-( when I say dance is the only thing that makes me happy I mean it ;-( if you guys knew my story you'd understand .

Vans warped tour...pros/cons..?

there is no experience like a rock concert. Everyone there for the common cause of rock & roll. Seeing the bands and people you look up to shedding their guitars and commanding the crowd...there is nothing like it. It is an experience that can inspire, incourage, and change a human being. My first concert changed my life and my love for music...from then on I wanted to pick up a guitar and play. It gave me two of my loves: music and guitar. My mom let me go because she trusted me to make the right decisions, whatever they may be. What if your kid's favorite bands breaks up and this is their last concert? You try to live life in the moment cause you never know what could come around the corner.

My parents won't let me spend my own money. What should I do?

Finance - is most often a topic rarely discussed and myriad of mystery.First, understand that 99% of your relationship with money is learned through social influence of watching your parents, siblings, and friends manage their money. Most schools do nothing in the way of educating the youth today about economic and financial concepts. Now that we understand where our views on money come from, it is important to either reinforce our thought paradigm or break it. Do your parents, siblings, and friends have the kind of finances that you want to have 10–20–30–40 years from now? If the answer to that question is no, then it is time to re-learn everything you think you know about money from the kind of people who do have finance that you want to have 10–20–30–40 years from now.As per the specific situation - you earn your own money, you have the right to spend it at your leisure. Your parents may wish to dissuade you from making a foolish purchase, but it is ultimately not their decision to make. So, not knowing the specific circumstances of this tale, (such as, why you just don’t go buy it anyway - is ‘your’ money locked in a safe that you cannot access?) lets get to the convincing part. Flattery will get you everywhere. You may wish to engage your parents into a conversation with ‘I really appreciate you always looking out for my best interests, I have learned a lot about personal finance through your examples and have shown responsibility in earning my own money so that I can purchase a new guitar to further my own personal growth in the arts. As such I hope you can respect why it is important to me to not only set my own financial and personal goals, but also to accomplish them.’

My parents are too over-protective? HELP!?

YOu parents are a little eccentric....but don't thing that all of those rules are uncommon...You have enough free time to even write a paper about cell phones being import...besides...how are you going to call 911 when you get kidnapped at the mall? I'm not allowed to sleep over either, I'm not allowed to cuss either and technically I have an internet limit but no one notices, actually i get pinched, slapped, spanked for breaking rules so its not like Im going insane being keep inside my house. I love fruit and I'm a cross country runner. I hate tampons and my mom actually made me start wearing make up and dress up cause she wants me to be cultured and have class. My parents also make me cry but because they always like nibbling at my failures. They also always tell me off about the same thing and have apparently convince themselves that I don't care fore them...but if I'm getting yelled at for buying the wrong present what am I suppose to do!!

Sorry I kinda ranted there...anyway how about a fish....really they can be very good pets, they are smarter than you think. I don't watch MTV but I do watch lots and lot of anime, usually online. Learn to cook, you have enough time, make your own meals, go out and buy ingredients, food connects you to the world. I can tell you are a very smart person...you need to go out more...Get a sport where you have to out....swimming for instance. Can you convince your parents to get you natural makeup or at least a good foundation? Dont worry about the boyfriend thing, if you could date imagine all the problems your parents would cause your poor boyfriend....
