Question About Tooth Pain

Tooth Pain... Antibiotic Question...?

I AM STILL ON THE AMOX. I have 5 more days of taking Amox. I've been on it only for 5 days but I am guessing by now that it should have worked. I took Amoxicillin before this round which was a couple of weeks ago and I took that entire prescription as well. So, perhaps it isn't working... because I already took it once, all the way through,... then the infection returned and I had to take it again. What happened was my DDS thought that my pain was only associated with an infection from a root canal (which was done)... she prescribed me amox before she left on vacation. She said I should be ok but just in case, she left another prescription of Amox... and then Clyndomycin if I needed it. I know it's confusing but here's the breakdown: PEN, AMOX, AMOX, CLYNDO. I have taken so many antibiotics recently due to different tooth infections. If you look at the antibiotics I have taken, I am currently on my second round of AMOX on day 5. Maybe it isn't working?

Abcess tooth pain question... ouch!!?

sorry a bit late answer and i hope things are better now. would have said not a good idea to take more than the prescribed amount of any medication unless you are absolutely certain about it. another option might have been to have gone to the ER who could change the medication or monitor how you would cope.

i hope you are better and have your pain under control.
