...tell me, if you recall, was there a closet involved in the proceedings??? If there was, I'm thinking that you just might be referring to the late '80's horror chiller, called "Cameron's Closet"....

Old Horror Movie question *please help*?

**No it is not poltergeist or 13 ghost this is a older horror movie maybe from the 80's or 90's at the end of the movie it's raining and the house sinks into the ground and it looks like it becomes a burial ground. At the end of poltergeist the house didn't sink it disappeared. In this movie the house actually sunk into the ground it was raining and it looked like the house was on top of a burial ground. And no it was not house either i saw that movie it wasn't that movie either.**

I am looking for a horror movie that has a house in it. All I remeber that near the end this man is trying to save this boy from the basment. From evil spirits I think. Then after they are out the house sinks and becomes burried. I think the house was on some burial ground but not shure I would like to know what this movie is if anyone knows.
thank you

When was the last time horror fans were scared by any horror movie?

It Follows is an absolute fucking genius in my opinion.(Tried inserting picture but Quora app hates me).It Follows is a film about a young girl who has sex with a shifty guy and finds herself in an empty parking lot tied to a wheelchair. All the while her lover rambles on about this thing that has been following him, and it explains his behaviour. This thing can take shape of anyone, you might know them, you might not. It will stalk you. It will kill you if it catches you, then it will return to stalk the person you got it from. You cani fight back, you can only pass it on.So while you're watching this film you constantly look in the background. This thing is relentless. It will crawl to the ends of the earth to kill you.I've never watched a movie where a simple conversation between characters has had me paranoid, trying to see it in the background. It has an ambiguous ending, but there's a lot of fuckery in this film you won't notice that hasn't been seen since rhe Shining. Seasons change between scenes, the decade of this tale isn't obvious, it to me is amazing.Oh and check out Triangle (2009) too. That shit is pure mindfuck.

Horror movie fans, what are your thoughs on Horror movies today?

Horror films today are more about the gore, nuditiy, and splatter. The best horrors are from the old black & white movies where it was all about the dark shadows and atmoshpere.

If one think that Horror movie is promoting supetitiostion then they should stop watching it. It is a mere an entertainment, nothing else. Why We Love Scary Movies Psychology of Fear: Why do we love watching horror movies?

What makes a horror movie terrifying for you as a fan?

I think the most terrifying ideas can be the ones that are just a narrow twist away from reality. This is something that speculative and dystopian fiction does extraordinarily well. The premise behind it is that perhaps what we see on the screen is not so very implausible and could very easily turn from fantastical nightmare to cold reality without a huge leap of imagination. These cautionary tales are capable of haunting us long after we stop watching because the ideas in them are so powerful.TV is doing a stand up job of this at the moment with absolutely terrifying series like Black Mirror and the Handmaid’s Tale bringing some of the best horror I’ve seen in years to the small screen.

Why do people like horror movies?

I'm a huge horror movie fan. I've always loved them since I was a kid.

The appeal in horror movies lies in their excitement and danger. There's a real thrill in being thrilled. Some people enjoy being scared because it provides a surge of adrenaline (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween). Others like to be disgusted or revolted because it challenges their appetite or their "strength" (Saw, Hostel, Night of the Living Dead, Dead Ringers). And others just like to experience disturbing events because it gives them an opportunity to peek into the world that no ones has ever returned from: lunacy (Shutter Island, Girl Interrupted).

Horror movies appeal to our fantasy-yearning side. We WANT to experience horror and thrill because it's an exciting experience that doesn't happen to us everyday, from the safety of our sofas. Today's society is too safe and too politically correct, so horror movies are a form of escapism.
But horror movies also appeal to our taboo side. We want to experience things that we're not allowed to experience otherwise in real life. Things like cannibalism, torture, mutilation, ingestion of the "unsavoury" etc. This is often known as "body horror" and appeals to our sense of disgust.

There is also a category of horror films that needs its own titles and that's supernatural horror. The reason why these have become so increasingly popular (The Exorcist, Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity, Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Amityville Horror) is because of the atmosphere they create. Supernatural horror is scary not because of what you see, but because of what you DON'T see. It's the possibility that there could be something life threatening that we can't even see.

At the end of the day, horror movies are all about the experience. We all watch them for different reasons, but it's always about the exciting experience.
