You need to attend a proper acting school for several years - not just a group lesson for a few months. Acting is all about interacting and reacting with other performers and that can't be done on a one-to-one basis. If you didn't get on well in the group, find a better school. No - you wouldn't get one-on-one time. That's not what acting training is really about. In a good acting school you'd gradually work your way up from the basic level through intermediate and to advanced over several years, and you'd be working with several teachers. Good teachers don't pick favourites, so it sounds like that one group wasn't a good one. Ask around for recommendations - but don't bother with individual coaching - it's not going to help. Also, agents like to see accredited acting schools on your resume - not coaches.

Is David Newer, Acting Coach for William Esper Studio a Good teacher?
Newer has good credentials. He is obviously a good actor, but if he is a good teacher is not a given. Esper Studio apparently thinks he is a good teacher. The studio is highly recommended. YOu want a hard teacher because acting is a hard profession. I don't necessarily think an acting class is worth nine hundred dollars. I have an aversion to acting schools and studios and I think those who have made it should teach those who have not for nothing.
Do acting classes work?
Acting is a craft, like any craft, one isn't born with the ability to do it. Imagine replacing the notion of acting in your question with the notion of building Edwardian-style furniture. Do you naturally know how to make ornamented furniture? Probably not. Could you read about how do to it? To a point. But ultimately, it would be useful for someone to give you some guidance. So, if you want to act like you build chairs, you're all set. If you'd rather act better than you build chairs, perhaps take some classes?

I don’t know who David Tom is, so I can only give a more general answer. Any actor training you have done or are doing should go on your CV. Where you list an online course depends on what the course entails. Is it private coaching? Is it a group class? When you list this particular training, be sure to highlight key elements that the training entails (voice and speech, monologues, character development, etc.), in particular their relevance to your desired career path as an actor, i.e. specific roles and role types, style, approach, etc.Just keep in mind that online acting lessons will be considered supplemental training, not core training. Core training is essential to have on your CV and constitutes in-person acting programs at accredited colleges and universities and/or actor training programs at a high level actors studio.

Hi my name is Megan , I live in Mobile ,Alabama I was wondering what is the different between a acting coach and acting classes. I've always wonted to become a actress. I was suppose to be starting a acting class called Color campus in Mississippi but my grades in school wasn't as good as they were suppose to so I decided my school work comes first. Where i live there is no way I will find any type of classes nor theaters Once I start my acting class how long do I need before I can get an agent. And do i get a head shot before getting a agent or after? I'm trying to volunteer at Mandy.com where I don’t get paid to do acting projects I thought it would be good experience. But I have not gotten a job yet. I’m 13 and trying to start as early as I can.
